History 2 Currently 3 Live 4 Discography 4.One of the several stories circulating as to the origin of their name is that they formed to provide the soundtrack for the unreleased and little known (and almost certainly fictional) John Carpenter film Stealth Bomber starring Kurt Russell. The lineup of the band has changed significantly since its initial formation.Simon Wright took over on bass duties. In 2005 they remixed Alkaline Trio's single "Burn" from the album Crimson. The track appears on one 7" vinyl out of a set of 2.Another Year, Surely This One Will Be Better Than the Last; The Inexorable March of Progress Will Lead Us All to Happiness. The video for the single was made by Medlo.Towards the end of 2005, in a mailout to subscribers of their newsletter, they said that they were "a little disappointed" only to have played 91 shows in that year. They appeared on a UK tour in 2006 and are set to tour with the band again in 2007.Medlo have also produced the majority of their music videos, including Radio Protector, Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here and Don't Go Down to Sorrow.Singles and EPs Stumble.EP) (December 2003) "Retreat!Unreleasable Volume 1: 65's.All text is and write music to fit the unreleased and little known John Carpenter flick 'Stealth Bomber' starring Kurt Russell, they took their name from the CIA coup of 1954 in Guatemala. There, the CIA put a white book instrument to use in which 65 days of disabling the communication systems of a nation while spreading propaganda is enough to overthrow a country.Their albums, as a result, maintain a distinctively gritty, almost industrial feel.By the end of 2003 Rob Jones (drums) and Gareth (bass) had been recruited, increasing the band to four members.Gareth left around the time of the release of their debut album, The Fall of Math, to be replaced by Simon Wright. In 2005 they remixed Burn from the album Crimson. The track appears on one 7inch vinyl out of a set of 2.Their new album, announced as 'The Destruction of Small Ideas', was released on the 30th of April 2007.Add this track to your playlist Retreat!Add this track to your playlist Aren't We All Running?Add this track to point, from drum'n'bass to digital hardcore; or at the very least the pace of progress has slowed right down.DJs dominating the commercial wing, and the likes of Warp doing a nice line in channelling underground subversion into true cult popularity. The band's first EP stumble.Squarepusher's itchy, restless, skewed adoration of jungle beats and often relentless momentum.Gathered backstage in the cramped 93 Feet East dressing room, seven or so of us sit in for an enjoyable interview that is tainted only by the background ambience of support act Fake Ideal engaged in that most painful experience, the drum soundcheck. We start at the beginning.Robb, Paul, Gareth and Joe.EP, and in turn had grown out of a club night that various band members were involved in.Thus unburdened, they can move on at the breakneck pace they are beginning to establish. We weren't hanging back, and we were ready to really...But we're not really thinking too far ahead, cause at the moment this is what we do.This is enough, until it all falls apart. This would end with Joe Fro playing the drums with his guitar, Robb bleeding throughout the whole thing, Gareth inventing a new kind of feedback and Paul getting through the last song without really having any strings left on his guitar at all.Would you say you lean one way rather than the other?Which leads neatly on to the classic 'x meets y on z' rock writer's equation, specifically the quotation on the live poster advertising tonight's show: "65daysofstatic are like Squarepusher meets Sigur Ros on crack".Talking of unlikely musical combinations, can you tell us about Dreaming of a White Noise Xmas (an mp3 available from the band's website that features the harmonious blend of Xmas spirit, Xtina, festive beats, and ladles of ominous, scary noise)? We did two Christmas singles actually, that was just the first one.Christina's always going to be the queen for that kind of thing, I wanted to do a Kelis one, and we're going to throw in a tiny bit of Justin tonight. So it's just nice to acknowledge that by...Warp had its sound, which was really nice, but...That's why we did what we did: cause we liked all that music but we wanted to jump around loads as well and be rock band. With this in mind, all you need to do is put stumble.DOS show, and then, like applying some miracle wax to your scuffed up shoes and seeing them transform before your very eyes, You Too Can Have the Confidence to Describe Warp as 'Over'.It really is that simple.Except for us, and we're great.Brick Lane, and carried cumbersomely inside, where setup chaos ensues.Occasional bursts of clicks and glitches come teasing from the PA.All very believable influences of young men in their early 20s, not so much clad in tattered Carhartts as holding on to their remains for dear life, and creating righteous driven moody hyperactive, and above all, accessible new music. Both searing and soaring. This noscript section of this tag only shows image banners.Their moods range from dismal to triumphant, and from relaxed to desperate. It is rare for a band to so effectively combine analog and electronic styles and instrumentation, and with such enjoyable results.Plus, the album page (but not the band page) for Gentle Giant's "Octopus."Studio Album, 2005) Avg: 4.The opener Drove Through Ghosts To Get Here is really a great song which starts with a slow and melancholic piano. The Times is a little weak, but still good and sad.Mean Low Water is dominated by another complex drum base and electronics. One Time for All Time is a very diverse and experimental album, drawing its influences from post rock, metal, math rock, and electronica, all strung together with an impressive musical prowess. This mostly instrumental album is comprised of relatively short blasts of sonic outbursts. This is certainly not the case with 65daysofstatic.The songs are very melodic and show a resemblance to the heavier post rock bands such as Pelican as well as Mogwai. In fact, I rarely notice production value, but on this album it is strikingly good. It's not much of a stretch to say that some tracks might even be a wee bit danceable. One of my favorite tracks is the epic opener, "Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here."Studio Album, 2005) Avg: 4.Highly recommended, though slightly flawed. After seeing 65daysofstatic live and buying this CD I have felt compelled to write a review.Over all an amazing peice.Don't Go Down to Sorrow: One of the most emotional songs I have heard. This song has a fair amount of noise but it dosn't ever cover up the melody.Little Victories: a continuation of The Distant...The Conspiracy of Seeds: 65 goes out on a limb.Studio Album, 2007) Avg: 3.This is the brand new good and big musical effort, done by the ecstatic 65daysofstatic in a period that soots their best form and their utmost rapid creativity. The await of a new album seemed almost equal to a consternation that the band took about two years of pause and silence. For an experience in the music of 65daysofstatic, Destruction of Small Ideas's entire arrangement has a typical stuff and plot. Thus, it is a big, abstract and mechanic dream going on here, out of the band seeking yet another whopping galore of exploration and indie temptation.Mechanised Glow Of Eastern European Dance Parties allows techno and electronic simple movements, in a rhythm of breakaway and underground salinity air.The rest falls under cheap adrenaline creativeness.Just like Explosions In The Sky or God Is An Astronaut did on their new 2007 album, Destruction Of Small Ideas isn't a new orientation or a different approach made by the band, but neither a painful monotonous cringe or a defying sorrow taste. This noscript section of this tag only shows image
