Copyright 2008 Automattic, Inc.Bondy sounds pretty good to me..Just got his album "American Hearts" on itunes.Type the letters "PDD" in the box below.If you don't see your comment after it's published, try refreshing your browser."Ultimately, Bondy's album plays like a polished installment in an experienced folkster's catalog rather than someone's first solo album.Bondy's new album, American Hearts, is easily one of my favorites of the year, and it comes just at the right time.Bondy's sparse folk rock will make a nice soundtrack for that transition, like Springsteen's Nebraska or Will Oldham's Days in the Wake.The other artist that comes to mind here is Steve Earle; "Vice Rag," my favorite of the two songs below, is essentially a lilting country version of "CCKMP," and is as disarming as the original.Bondy makes less more on American Hearts, much to this listener's pleasure.God

as if Bondy is carrying a heavy burden through a Civil War picaresque: American Hearts is an unfolding tableau
of hell on earth as seen by a weary set of eyes and described with a
troubadour's guitar and an obsessive's mastery of form and musical history.Not everything along Bondy's journey is so stark and angry.He
hangs with a backing group called the Band of Ghosts and stops in at barrooms
