today!See all 143 customer reviews...Send Alice ringtones to your cell phone now!Click on a tag to find related items, discussions, and people.No one has tagged this product for Amazon search yet.Why not be the first to suggest a search for which it should appear?In 1995, Alice In Chains released what would be its final studio album, simply titled "Alice In Chains," AKA "Tripod" (because the album cover has a three legged dog).Although this is a slothful sounding album, it always stays intriguing and never runs out of steam.Song, after song, everything is a downer after another.Although Cantrell had sang a few AIC songs on prior releases, his presence here is more pervasive.It sounds like the riff was inspired straight out of the Tony Iommi sound book.It reminds me a little of Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath."The ghostly "Brush Away" has an intense, almost paranoid feel to it.The song actually feels, as one of its lines states, "like the coldest winter chill."Again, Staley's vocals over Cantrell's sound excellent.The tempo is picked up a bit with the ferocious "So Close."The dismal "Frogs" is a song that you really need to be in the right mood to hear.It seems to go on forever.Cantrell sung "Over Now.""Tripod," album is one of the most gloomy, despondent albums ever recorded.Come 1995 and on, all kinds of rumors were flying around about Alice In Chains: (1).But, the latter was supposedly true."Sludge Factory" is my personal favorite on here.The ending features some robotic vocals, ominous guitar solos and some thick, doomy basslines."Over Now" seems out of place on this album.However, it's melodic, tasteful, reflective and catchy.Alice in Chains' eponymous album was destined to be their last studio record.Nonetheless, there are a number of gems on here, opener "Grind" is a wash of noisy guitars and sludge, using multiple vocals and guitars to maintain a density to it, "Again" is just downright bizarre, with a more open feel and sound than the rest of the albu, and "Over Now" is almost as breezy as anything this claustrophobic can get.And certainly equally intriguing is bizarre ballad "Shame in You", which features a tightly harmonized vocal in direct contrast to the openness of the backing.But regardless of all the good on this one, something keeps me from thinking about it in the same light as "Dirt" or "Jar of Flies".It's a good record, but not nearly as good as those.Published 1 month ago by K.This contains one of the most boring songs ever, that I'll say right now.That song is called "Sludge Factory".Dear god, that song is awful!Not the same feel as their other releases.This album does not give me the same feeling as any other Alice in Chains album.Alice In Chains' Underrated Masterpiece...Alice In Chains (AKA Tripod) (1995.Alice In Chains' third studio album
