| For many years, British synthesists David Wright and Robert Fox have been creating wondrous electronic music, individually and in unison.Vocal choirs lend a cathedral demeanor to some tracks, a grandeur that carries no theological message.Violin strains increase that heavenly air. There are points where the electric guitars adopt an ECM jazz resonance, propelling the melody to even loftier heights.Whether in soft or enthusiastic mode, this music exhibits a stately grace that is rewarding on an auditory and an emotional basis.Through inspired compositional mastery, Fox propels the music far beyond conventional ecstasy to regions of dreamlike capacity. Also included is a 10 minute studio track.Powerful keyboards dominate, creating lavish melodies that alternate between dynamic crescendos and delightfully sedate passages. The studio track ("Sygyzy") continues this tone by slowbuilding from temperate pools of sound into a pulsating conjunction of powerful melody and enticing beats. This disk takes you not only on a cosmic sonic journey, but transcends time too, affording you glimpses of the collaborations of Wright and Fox spanning nearly a decade, with one track being live for BBC Soundscapes in 1993, a pair of previously unreleased pieces from an aborted charity CD project in 1994, and 24 minutes of new material from 2000 (being the title track, "Blue").Featured are versions of tracks from Code Indigo's prior releases.January 29th 1950 in Newcastle under Lyme, staffs,
and educated at Newcastle High School and Newcastle School of Art and Design.Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and a long association and direct involvement in county
Cheshire theatre projects, that his involvement with Electronic Music grew.Cheshire Youth Theatres production of 'A
Midsummer Night's Dream'.Compact Disc Services
took Robert's music under their wing and became sole distributor. The Fire and the Rose (FXCD2) followed in 1991, and
followed too, the untimely death through cancer of his first wife Gillian.Mountains Suite (FXCD3) was created and released.Robert again collaborating with David Wright and joined by Nik Smith and
Vaughn Evans. The next two years proved hectic for Robert, with involvement as both a
soundtrack writer and a theatre director coinciding with a major studio upgrade.David Wright for a concert at Derby Cathedral, and his shelved album, The Stuff of Dreams,
was finally released as part of the collaborative Blue.Asfafa releases, Songs from
the Inner Ear and On Distant Shores which were released as part of a double set entitled The Missing Albums (SP3) in 2001.Underworld, based on the Faustus story, was to set Robert on a darker musical journey than
his previous outings.Robert premiered the album in concert
at Jodrall Bank in July 2002.Robert's involvement with Code Indigo continued and in September 2002 Robert Fox and David
Wright spent a productive 2 week period writing the 3rd Code Indigo studio album TimeCode.Code Indigo and the electronic music duo Callisto. His solo music is melodic, atmospheric and emotive with emphasis on mood and feel.During a 20 years musical journey, David has developed his own unique sound and style, that for reference purposes, can been likened to Steve Roach, Kitaro, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and Mike Oldfield. His music is regularly featured on radio playlists worldwide and has featured on Sky, British TV and numerous international CD compilations. It also drew the attention of Klaus D.Two further cassette releases followed, Romancing the Moon and Waiting For The Soundtrack in 1990 and 1991, as well as growing acclaim from fans of electronic music in the UK and elsewhere. In 1993 came the release of what turned out to be the first in a series of thematic albums. As well as being one of the artists most satisfying works, it has also proved to be one of his most commercially successful, and music from the album regularly featured at the London Planetarium. This sowed the seeds for the future and the forming of AD Music Ltd.Without a doubt, 1994 was the year which firmly established David Wright amongst the elite of the reviving British electronic music scene.Dissimilar Views' gathers up the best of the aborted 'Korce Project' and adds several new tracks, including the astonishing title piece.Unfortunately, such was the intensity of their schedule that they even had to turn down an invitation to play at the 3rd EMMA Festival in Sheffield. He took charge of the compilation and editing of the labels first release, '1995AD', featuring new artists.Despite this unbelievably hectic workload, David was still able to continue work on the collaborative album For Whom The Bell with Robert Fox, a project which had actually begun late in 1994.The introduction of Vaughn Evans (keyboards) and Nik Smith (guitars) had not only given the music a new dimension but had given birth to the collective Code Indigo.Involvement with Code Indigo continued with preparation for the Derby Cathedral concert in October, which proved a huge critical success as the band showcased material especially written by David Wright and Robert Fox for the event. The early part of 1997 saw continued involvement in the administration of AD Music Limited, whilst musically, with Code Indigo, there was preparation
for the eventful and hugely successful concert in Duisburg, Germany, attended by 1000 fans.Although ultimately successful, the experience drained and disheartened David and indeed all associated with AD Music in just about every way and nearly led to its demise.Despite these problems, 1999 saw the release of the 2nd Code Indigo studio album Uforia, followed by a low key concert in London during September, where the live premiere was accompanied by a specially prepared visual and video backdrop.UK Code Indigo concert plus collaborative work with Robert Fox.In 2001 David relocated to East Anglia where, over the next 2 years, he oversaw the rebuilding of AD Music and its associated Publishing arm FX media. The album received universal praise and strong comparisons with the best of Tangerine Dream. In addition, along with Dave Massey, David compiled library and TV soundtrack CDs for Publishers Notting Hill. Both albums have been very well received by fans old and new and feature strong rhythmic sequencer style music combined with David's trademark melodic style.Forthcoming solo Albums
David has brand new music planned for his USA concerts in September. This will be recorded with a view to release as a live album in 2008.Signal to the Stars, titled NYX, has been delayed.David and Robert Fox have begun work on a non Code Indigo collaborative album.David Wright can be commissioned to compose a 'one off' piece of music for the discerning listener who wants something special and collectable, or for commercial use.In the same way as an artist paints and sells a picture, so David Wright can be commissioned to compose and record to CD a unique piece of music which will remain in perpetuity, the property of the individual who commissions the work.David will discuss the style and content of the music required and treat the project in much the same way as a solo album project,
thus ensuring a high standard of creative musical integrity.Anyone interested in commissioning David Wright can contact him through AD Music on +44 (0)1986894712.David played piano and synth Sax lead to great effect.Berlin school style built slowly and inexorably to a pounding conclusion as 4 to the floor drum and sequences and a storming theme and solo carried the stunning track to it end.Sea of Dreams (from Deeper but including additional sections). Many pictures were taken (courtesy of Dave Massey) and they will appear very soon on the pics page.David for this great concert.Odyssey part 2 (again, slightly shorter revamped version of Bochum version)
4.Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the NSC concert.David Wright has confirmed that a live album will definitely be released later in 2006 from the Bochum and NSC concerts.Bochum Planetarium was David's 10th Planetarium concert. No date or venue has been announced.David Wright Albums, CDs and Downloads.David Wright is now considered a veteran of the UK Electronic music scene and one of the foremost instrumental music
composers.David has many associations with electronic music, but his emotive and gently rhythmic style is also laced with classical, rock, jazz and cultural
influences making his albums as diverse as they are original. You can either use Paypal (account not required) or use the Gemm online

journey style offering with a strong sense of emotion and warmth pervading the album.Deeper is a much more evocative and symphonic album than any of his previous outings.Wright album too date, showing the maturity of an artist at total ease with his music.EM that sounds fresh
and contemporary.Includes 24 bit digitally re mastered Rysheara, Taiga,
Nomad, Sygyzy, Guardians, Shah, Continuum, Walking With Ghosts plus many more..Wind and Wire
More Reviews below....This title is now deleted from the AD Music catalogue, but can be obtained digitally via iTunes and other digital download stores.Dissimilar Views in its originally intended double CD format. All the material from the original 1995 album, with some tracks extended. The CD
also features the full 9 minute studio version of the classic Sygyzy.Awesome and highly recommended! This is easily one of his most adventurous albums to date, and it is one of his best. The music creates a perfect mood and picture just begging to be your own private soundtrack.Acclaimed early David Wright CD.This album is available to download direct from AD Music. It features 70 minutes of varied music, from wide eyed romanticism
to atmospherics and on to classical excursions.Of all the many demos I have received, this was the only one I liked and still like.It has soul and emotion of the same kind as most
of Klaus Schulze's work.Rysheara' from the excellent 'Dissimilar Views', well represented here, is an intelligent choice given that one of the purposes
of a 'best of' is to attract the uninitiated and perhaps those that only have an album or two in their collection.I'm quibbling now, with a generous running time of 78.This proves to be merely the eye of the storm however, as 'Return of the Nomad' cross fades in even more powerful than before reprising
the themes and Lobban's blistering guitar licks electrify the mix. This is 'Beside the Sleepy Lagoon' for the chill out generation.Night Falls' continues the lilting bass line and motif but adds tasteful saxophone and cymbal effects as the air slowly chills to almost
subliminal whispers and echoes.Darklands' adds a more ominous tone with insistent, doomy chords, moody strings and piano improvisations
around a theme.Terrific, easily his finest work to date.Even the songs that I cared
for less than others are still clearly superior music. And most of what is here (and at almost 75 minutes, that's a lot of music) is
absolutely fantastic. Some of the songs on this
album are among the best cuts I heard all of last year. There is a scattering of slight Germanesque sequencer work, but it's slight and
not dominant at all.The melodic refrain is handled first by pretty synth strings and later by what sounds like a sampled
Theremin!Theremin does most of the interpreting of the theme.Wright's use of repeated refrains and motifs
surfaces less frequently from here on until track 12.Wright's great use of synth string sections playing
short bowed chords.EM beats, piano and who knows what else, all repeating the musical motif
that was introduced back in the first track of the suite.Veering from sincerely powerful to
joyously affirming to somberly tragic, yet beautifully haunting throughout, Walking with Ghosts is a landmark piece of work.Continuum was released in June of 2004.The works are composed on
various makes of keyboards and synthesizers, which dominate the work. There is a changeover about three quarters of the way through that gives
a momentary pause for reflection, and the piece then continues as before.Bridge of Souls returns to the brooding, darker mood of the work.It has a dancing base line, complimented with light keyboard work that floats over the well defined
beat. The second listen through brought out the complexities
of the work which were standing behind the surface waiting to be noticed. The space conceptions are breathtaking, combined with the exceptional
images.Very highly recommended as an essential addition to any space music fans library of listening material. Please remember that there are
only 2000 of these sets released.Fair warning as I cannot imagine that they will last very long. The music was intended to reflect the experiences of a group of volunteers working with the children and was originally intended to feature
alongside the poetry of Keith Bromley, the project originator, and be available from The Body Shop and selected outlets. Some of the music from the Korce Project appeared on 'Dissimilar Views' in different
versions (AD9CD) but new material was also included most notably the extended music which comprised the title piece.Room of Dolphins' offers a perfectly chilled
oasis of tranquility with some fine arpeggios and piano work. The set concludes with 'Returning Tides' clocking in
at just under the 10 minute mark it typifies the high quality of the unreleased material throughout.David Wright in general and 'Dissimilar Views' in particular this is a fine collection and fills a gap in the composer's
musical curriculum vitae.Part suite which is radically different to the source.Once again, careful building and use of light and shade
is combined with improvisation. It will be interesting to see in which direction Wright will
take his music next. The Tenth Planet' will more than keep his fans happy.Deeper' is impeccably produced and is stylistically closer to Callisto and 'Walking
with Ghosts' rather than David's previous release 'Continuum'.The set opens with 'Nomad' which originally appeared on 1994's 'Ocean Watch' but has been completely overhauled and reimagined retaining
elements from the Leicester Space Centre gig in September 2004 and is superior to the original sounding like a new track. The Sound of Light' is another shorter, focussed piece with some fluid soloing and is followed by the title track which features a fine,
confident melody accompanied with lush strings and interesting rhythms.Part 3 slows down the pace with ambient tones, thunderclaps and piano crossfading into more familiar rythmic territory
in Part 4 and melancholic strings and piano pile on the atmosphere in a widescreen panoply of sound. The final part is at 11.Sea of Dreams' was originally part of the 'Dune' project which may still appear in some form as part of a future live performance and
that is something to look forward to.Deeper' displays the increasing maturity and confidence of the composer as he heads into the next phase
of his career and represents another highpoint in a long and interesting journey. What a magnificent album.Walking with Ghosts would be so hard to
top but you have just gone and done it.Marilynmba' and up to the recent magic that is 'Continuum', what you have are 18 tracks, the longest at around six
minutes, that showcase the really solid but melodic synth music compositions for which Wright is best known.Flame Sky' and 'Continuum', there is a wealth of music here that can only be described as magical.Moog and other analogue style melodies gracefully layered on top and spread over the rhythmic soundscape
in varying degrees of volume.Part one opens with misty cosmic winds and other atmospheric conditions, before
a slow hailing synth melody flows around the eerie soundsculpture and starts the track on its lengthy course.Wright's wonderful gently flowing sense of rhythm complements his rich thematic compositions perfectly, so that you seem to
just float along with the music in a relaxed and care free way.It more likely to set you on high you won't want to come down from for
a long time!Quiet moments spasmodically occur to allow the theme to be reintroduced stronger than before with choir samples
matching the lead line. The first 30 seconds of "Island of Flight" sees a pulsing sample that leads to an equally pulsing bass line and the
by now ubiquitous space talk. The final four minutes takes you back down to earth slowly and allows you to reflect on the quality that had preceded it.Three Six Zero
Review by George Zahora, Splendidezine.Fantastic, his best album ever!!Considered by many to be his most musical work and arguably the definitive Robert Fox album!Gorgeous melodies, varied rhythmic excursions
and great atmospherics combine with subtlety and power.Contains the classics 'Queen of Hearts' and 'FourSixZero'.The first Robert Fox CD to feature spoken vocals, and the first after his collaborative work with Code Indigo.Click here for download info.Another classic journey electronic music album from Robert Fox, this time based on his time in Canada and legends of the Canadian
Indians.Clearly Vangelis inspired but still retaining Roberts originality and style. This album derives its inspiration from the artists 1991 journey through the Australian continent. However, it never attempts to emulate the native
music or culture. And all shall be well
The end...An elaborate electronic symphony
with classical elements and beautiful atmospheric, ambient traits.Chasing the Night
To Sleep...That it is part of an excellent 'Blue' 4 CD box set only serves to enhance its worth.Live at Derby Cathedral. Both are a must for all Robert Fox fans.Even when it's romantic, it's powerful, and when he wants to get powerful, it's romantic. So, with a lump in the throat, eyes like saucers and not a dry eye in the house, allow us to present his latest album: 'Touching The Serpent's Tail'.Weaver Of Chance' takes all this on board, increases the volume and accelerates the pace slightly, so that the effect is more intense.Tinkling grand piano sounds add breadth and
melodic progression.Gregorian chant materialises, followed by unintelligible
female talking. For me it soundtracked, variously, a journey to work, a stretch at the
computer and, best of all, a lazy Saturday morning reading the paper in bed.Touching the Serpent's Tail.It is, after all, no more than a musical interpretation of a series of images...........Sleeve Notes by Steve Roberts, SMD.At last a British musician had created a melodic, grandiose sound on a scale to
rival Vangelis, yet the composer's own identity shone through like a beacon. Now, nearly 15 years later, just before the release
of his tenth solo album, 'Timeless' is a welcome compilation of carefully selected tracks from an impressive canon.Drawing musical inspiration from personal experiences such as traveling to Australia, Robert has produced enduring classics such
as 'White Man Dreaming' and a personal favorite, '3 Sisters' from 1993's 'Blue Mountain Suite'.Niagara Falls, inspired the album 'A Gathering of Spirits'(1994) from which the opening
cut 'Thundering Water(Niagara)' and 'Moving On' have been taken.Another key influence on Robert's music has been classic Literature.Mikrokosmos Theatre Company's production of 'Faustus' and revealed deeper and darker dimensions
to Robert's music and 'Angel' clearly demonstrates the increasing range and maturity of Robert's sound.Timeless' stands up as an exceptional collection but there is more to come and I will continue
to follow Robert Fox's career, along with his faithful followers, with keen anticipation.Robert's 11th album is a stunning listening experience. The use of synthesizers enhances the majestic atmospheres that appear in some
of the compositions.Review by Steve Roberts, SMD.Robert Fox extended soundtrack for the Mikrokosmos Theatre Company's production of 'Faustus', also directed by Robert, takes its
musical themes and inspiration from Marlowe's play.In the play Faustus enters into a contract with the devil and eventually pays
the price but knowledge of the play's narrative is not an essential prerequisite to enjoy the music on offer here.Ominous tolling bells initiate the first track 'Portent', a fittingly restless prelude to the superbly atmospheric electronics
evoking a restless sonic nightmare. On 'Helen of Troy' a lighter feel is provided by the marimba effects but Fox retains the superbly crafted melodics. The consummate craftsman serves up yet another inspiring anthem.Underworld' is classic Robert Fox but at the same time is a more ambitious work as the composer's horizons are broadened to include darker
realms which only serves to enhance Fox's more familiar melodic stylings.Underworld' is a breath of fresh air and a strong contender for album of the year. This box set puts that right and fills the gaps.I've lent an ear to his latest offering I think it's safe to say that his musical style has undergone very little in the way of change
or development in the intervening period.Touching the Serpent's Tail.More ethnic drumming picks up the pace and the piano responds to it lifting the spirits high.Unexpectedly as we approach the middle of the track
the mood seems to darken a little but gradually the melodic pads return, as if the clouds that had momentarily obscured the sun had drifted
away but there is still a slight edge of unease hinting of their possible return.Orchestral pads impart something of a biblical feel.Hmm, could well be a musical interpretation
of a series of images..........."Astonishing music and the best Robert Fox album in years."Robert has delivered another stunning display of his talent.Fox album too, but without some of the blandness that characterized some of those artists works. The mood of the album is more reflective and although
maybe not as immediate as say, 'Talking Heads', 'Maya' is full of subtle delights that will reward the patient listener.I've said it before and
its even more applicable here ,Robert's music would enhance a major film production. The title track is divided into three parts with Part 1 clocking in at 7.Part 2 which resembles a film soundtrack as Roberts strips his sound down to the bones..Piano is interspersed with ambient textures and treatments but returns to the more familiar template on Part 3.The subtle changes in melody and use of voices are a delight. When All is Done' raises the tempo a little and gradually a piano motif succeeds in establishing itself but
once again the composer chooses restraint.Maya' is his
most mature and personal work to date and deserves to be a big seller. With the release of the 'best of' retrospective
,'Timeless', 2005 is going to be a good year for Robert's fans.Into The Light
review by Graham Getty, SMD.The piece is topped and tailed by 2 tracks which feature a child's voice and overall the trio have sublime power. When 'Blue Mountains' was issued Fox was the U.Like the two before it, this CD
is made up of rich, passionate, harmonious, ethereal, melodic richly textured symphonic synth music.Review by Graham Getty, SMD.The title track takes over seamlessly, the early moments of this section reminiscent of Vangelis' 'Metallic Rain' from
the 'Direct' album. It then fades into an atmospheric
cacophony of effects leaving only a percussion block to traverse the gap to 'In A Secluded Chapel'.Robert Fox was even surpassing
the works of Vangelis himself.During the 1990's AD Music established a reputation for producing high quality electronic, ambient and space music with an
