| Elliot Minor (formerly The Academy) is a rock band from York, England.Myspace page, they also blend classical music into their sound.McFly in Newcastle in 2006 to an audience of over 13,000 people and were spotted by a representative of Repossession Records to whom they later signed a record deal.The band consists of members Alex Davies (Guitar and Vocals), Ed Minton (Guitar and Vocals), Dan Hetherton (Drums and Backing Vocals), Ali Paul (Piano and Keyboard) and Teddy Hetherton (Bass).Alex went on to Uppingham School where he met Ed, and together they devoted their time to making their own music.Shortly after their chance reunion, Elliot Minor (previously known as The Academy) formed, and they began writing and recording.Elliot Minor currently have 26+ songs recorded and are still writing and recording.All material to date are original songs written and recorded by Elliot Minor.They went to the Minster school with Alex and Dan when they were younger.They now play keyboard and bass in live performances.Prior to this it had already been playlisted on major channels such as Kerrang!TV, MTV2, The Box and The Hits.Elliot Minor have played numerous small gigs in their local area, including The Mount School, York where there was no entry fee.Successfully in the world ..So it was with great pleasure that I discovered The Minor (as I like to call them) are looking likely to be the next big name band to come out of York and on the 29th March 07 they popped into the BBC Radio York studios to play a tune for More Raw.We played for McFly at the Newcastle Arena, that was like 13,000 people.Please improve this article if you can.Label(s)

Warner Bros.Elliot Minor (formerly The Academy) is a band from York, UK.He was born into the world of classical music, and was expected to become a concert violinist, but when he met Ed Minton at Uppingham School in 2000 his eyes were opened wide to the world of rock.Alex and Ed quickly became great friends.At the end of their time at Uppingham, they both decided to take a gap year to develop the band and Alex built a more sophisticated home studio in his garage.In October 2005, Alex Davies and Dan Hetherton found themselves at the Minster School in York, both picking up younger brothers.The three began recording new songs, improving old songs and sending out demos.Elliot Minor is classically trained in the violin, piano, clarinet, cello, double bass, saxophone and singing.Shaggy, New Found Glory, Something Corporate, Aqua and Sublime among others.Mannequin) in Los Angeles, California.After hearing the track, Neal Avron (Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy) offered to mix the record and, of course, the boys accepted.Their first single, Parallel Worlds, was released on April 9th, 2007.Parallel Worlds is energetic rock track, driven by guitars, but woven together with violin and piano.Drawers would fly open, lights would swing and posters would mysteriously peel off the wall.In the video for the single the boys rehearse the song in a spooky old room, and as they play the energy from the music is transferred to the objects around them.The single entered at number 31 on the UK Singles Charts where it featured for one week in April 2007.Prior to this it had already been playlisted on major channels such as Kerrang!Elliot Minor currently have less than 127 songs recorded and are still writing and recording.All material to date are original songs written and recorded by Elliot Minor or Alex Davies, the frontman.Their debut album is completed with release scheduled for February 2008 (it was November but at recent gigs they have stated it has been completed but pushed back to make way for a fourth single).The band have said the song is about the Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba.The song includes many quotes referring to Jessica and her career."Jessica" was originally known as "Walk With Me".Elliot Minor have played numerous small gigs in their local area, including The Mount School, York where there was no entry fee.The majority of the venues booked are smaller halls within various Carling Academies.November and this is also the first time the band will be playing abroad in Ireland with 2 gigs in Dublin and Belfast.They are to be the headline act at ButserFest on September 15th 2007, Queen Elizabeth Country Park.The band stated that they had only met Fall Out Boy the previous day.Elliot Minor's third single, titled "The White One Is Evil" was released on October 29th and reached number 24 in the charts.However, as with the previous singles, it only held its position for a week before dropping out.They had the pleasure of supported McFly in the greatest hits tour in the later part of 2007.Magazine in the UK have said the album will be self titled "Elliot Minor", and that it's release date is in May.This has yet to be confirmed by the band, however.Elliot Minor to tour with You Me at Six October 07 at musicscoop.An Elliot Minor forum
