| This article does not cite any references or sources.Kiss from 1980 until his death in 1991.November 24, 1991), better known as Eric Carr, was an American musician, best known as drummer for the rock band Kiss.Peter Criss over his substance abuse problems and unreliability, Kiss held open auditions for a new drummer.At the time of his audition, Paul Caravello was repairing stoves for a living, while playing drums in a variety of bands.He was chosen and since there were already two members of Kiss with the name Paul (Stanley and Paul "Ace" Frehley) a name change was needed.Peter Criss had two syllables in his first name and only one in his last name.Paul Caravello's girlfriend at the time decided that whatever name they came up with for him, it must follow this pattern of two syllables in the first name and one syllable in the last name so it would "sound correct" when people said the names of the members of Kiss.After considering monikers such as Rusty Blades, he decided upon "Eric Carr."Lick it Up's "All Hell's Breakin' Loose," Animalize's "Under the Gun," and Crazy Night's "No, No, No."Carr's style is featured most prominently on 1982's Creatures of the Night and has not been duplicated since.Aside from his amazing drumming skills he also had a musical approach to his ability to play other instruments.Eric recorded his version of the song using the same backing track as Criss, and reportedly sat on the same drum throne as Criss did to record the song.Music career
Eric Carr was influenced by John Bonham of Led Zeppelin and Ringo Starr of The Beatles.This is best demonstrated in many photographs of him during his high school years as he wore his hair like the famed Beatles drummer.After passing the audition, the band had some trouble coming up with a character persona and a stage name.He originally considered going by the name "Rusty Blades," until he decided on Eric Carr, noting that all of the original members of Kiss had three syllables in their names, two in the first name, and one in the last.While Kiss made little effort to showcase his diverse musical talents, former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick along with Carr's family released Carr's first and only solo album in 1999 titled Rockology, which featured many demos that Kulick and Carr worked on together along with songwriter and friend Adam Mitchell.Despite aggressive treatment, Carr's condition did not improve, and on November 24, 1991, Eric Carr died at the age of 41.Eric's last recording with Kiss was for the song "God Gave Rock 'N Roll To You II", which featured him on backing vocals.His health had declined to the point where he was unable to play drums for the recording session, and Eric Singer (who had played previously in Paul Stanley's solo band) was brought in, though Carr appeared in the video for the song.However, when asked if he could come back to the fold, Simmons told Carr that 'you need to concern yourself with getting better first.At that point, a distraught Carr ceased communication with Kiss.As a tribute, the group's 1992 release Revenge featured what is said to be the only drum solo Carr ever recorded with the band, titled "Carr Jam 1981", a jam session recorded for the "Music From The Elder" sessions (Ace's original guitar part was overdubbed by Bruce Kulick).He is interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, New York.Eric Doyle Mensinger (born May 12, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio), better known as Eric Singer, is an American drummer for the rock band Kiss and singer Alice Cooper.In July 2005 Eric Singer and Friends, featuring Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper Band, Dad's Porno Mag, Slash's Snakepit, Electric Angels), Chuck Garric and Damon Johnson performed two live shows in Australia.In February 2006, ESP, Eric Singer, Chuck Garric, Bruce Kulick and John Corabi performed for two nights at the Kiss Min Epos + Live Vol 3 in Tokyo, Japan.Career with Kiss
Singer had previously played in Paul Stanley's solo band, and auditioned for Kiss's recording of "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II".Upon Eric Carr's death in 1991, Singer joined Kiss as a permanent member.In 1996, Singer was replaced by original Kiss drummer Peter Criss for a reunion tour with the original members.In the fall of 2007, Singer joined Alice Cooper on his "Psycho Drama Tour".However he is a loyal endorser of Pearl drums, Attack drumheads, and Zildjian Cymbals.Eric also has his own signature snare which he uses with KISS, the "Pearl Signature Series Eric Singer" snare drum.He also
