Jan 21, 2007.Charleston, South Carolina but you'd have them down as residents of Hawthorne, Los Angeles on this evidence. The big pop noise is pure Beach Boys, down to the sumptuous harmonies, and overall it sounds like someone swallowed Pet Sounds, but in the best way.Rough Trade Shops' label. The Explorers Club
06.EP proves their ability to sing in harmony and create gorgeous melodies, and their live show proves their ability to sometimes wear matching outfits. The Explorers matchless connection to obscure psychedelic pioneers makes them a treat to the ear of any music lover.Aesthetics are their game and they have a knack for experimenting (check the banjo and piano mix on I Lost My Head).Forever stuck in the sixties, the Explorers are sure to blow your mind. These are the kids who you thought were losers in high school, but are now dating your crush."Youve heard bands compared to the Beach Boys before, probably so many times that youre now jamming your fingers in your ears and humming to avoid hearing it again, but the difference here is that Explorers Club has the vocal skills.MySpace page bring to mind The Zombies and The Association (mentioned as influences), as well as Harry Nilsson (who clearly serves as a guiding spirit). The members of the Explorers Club have a masters degree in oldies radio to the extent that it all sounds less like reinvention of a classic format and more like newly unearthed vintage records of songs you think must have lain hidden for the past 40 years. And theyre not afraid to wear matching outfits."COM
The Explorers Club hail from a different Beach and a different Ocean. When you listen to thier music or witness them live, there's an honesty and appreciation they have for tasty pop songs. They all eat from the same buffet line which consists of equal helpings of The Beach Boys, Zombies and The Beatles."Are you sure you want to delete this comment?"Ahoy, Explorers Club: Thanks for the request (or did I request you?Your song is wonderful...San Diego is waiting for you guys to return!!The Welcome Dynasty (NUEVOS TEMAS!Hey The Explorers Club!!!Would love to bring you guys to Ft.Joel who met you last night at laha.Enjoyed it and look forward to hanging sometime. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you.To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair.To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple.Back from a looooong journey!!!Bacharach vibe of MelloWroll!Hey The Explorers Club Thankyou so much for supporting koolbadges Button Badges. This could be an attempt to steal your username and password.Moved Permanently

The flag of the Explorers Club has been to both poles, to the top of high mountains and the ocean depths and has been to outer space and the lunar surface.According to the club's website, "A flag expedition must further the cause of exploration and field science."Parody
The South Park episode "The Return of Chef" had an organization called 'Super Adventure Club' parodying L.Hubbard was a member of the Explorers Club and so this is a partial source for the 'Super Adventure Club' although it is arguable the Explorers Club itself is not being parodied. In the 2003 novel Gilligan's Wake, Thurston Howell, III, is at one point approached by Alger Hiss about starting a cell of the Communist Party USA in the guise of a chapter of the Explorers Club.In the film The Life Aquatic, there is a ball located at an Explorers Club.External links
