Jill Scott

Hey guys

I don't know if I'm in a right section but think I am. Just "discovered" an artist new to myself named Jill Scott . She is an American R&B, soul, and jazz singer, songwriter and poet. I just got her last (I think) album "The Real Thing - Words and Sounds Vol.3." and it's amazing. She won two Grammy Awards and was nominated for nine



As I found out she was performing with Erykah Badu. Her voice is amazing and so are her songs . I was stunned when I first heard her album, and think it is going to play on my PC till early in the morning.
She had a debut album in 2000 - "Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1", which was sold in 2x Platinum. Her live album "Experience: Jill Scott 826+" was gold; her second full-lenght album "Beautifully Human: Words and Sounds Vol. 2" was also gold. Her next album "Collaborations" was on 3rd place US R&B album chart. Her last album "The Real Thing - Words and Sounds Vol.3." was just released this summer.
Don't know if I'm gonna find some fans of Jill Scott here but I hope if you listen some of her songs that you're gonna like and enjoy them as much as I have.

She doesn't get the recognition she deserves. She has a lovely neo- soul sound, great music to listen to when you wanna just chill out

I can see that " border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> . But I don't get it why. She has a lovely voice, beautiful songs, you just have to sit, listen and enjoy.

she does well for herself. I saw her on tour after after vol.2 came out 2/3 years ago and it was pretty packed. [it was an auditorium that holds i'd say 3-5k, but it's not like she has lots of production costs.. it's just her and a band pretty much. lol]
Her last album sold about a million copies and she has support from mature r&b fans so I think the new one would debut top 10, hopefully top 5 like her last one did.
she's amazing live. she sounds Exactly like she does on her albums live, maybe even better. such a strong beautiful voice...
