Cleveland, Ohio, U.Gerald Levert was born to The O'Jays frontman Eddie Levert and his wife Martha in Philadelphia on July 13, 1966.Too Damn Good to You", "U Got That Love", and a remake of R.Gerald wrote and produced songs for other artists such as, Barry White, Stephanie Mills, Teddy Pendergrass, James Ingram, The Winans and The O'Jays.Levert released his tenth album,Voices, in 2005.Carlysia, an aspiring singer, appeared on the MTV series My Super Sweet 16, with her father in 2005.The autopsy also revealed that Levert had pneumonia.The official cause of death was acute intoxication, and the death was ruled accidental.Gerald Levert was 40 years old.Levert was taking the pain medication because of chronic pain from a lingering shoulder problem and surgery in 2005 to repair a severed Achilles tendon.Levert was also prescribed Xanax for anxiety attacks.Levert album of the same name.Levert was also working on reality show in which he was losing weight along with 12 of his female fans, who were training with him at his palatial home.Son

With "Private Line" and "Groove On", Gerald definitely maintained the Gerald that we had come to know from the Levert days with the nice, romantic slow jams and midtempo songs."Thinkin' Bout It" and "Taking Everything" before.However, that didn't represent the entire CD.Gerald do a track with Layzie Bone, a track entitled "No Sense".Out of all of Gerald's solo CDs, I would definitely say that "G" is one of or definitely my favorite Gerald Levert solo CD.Also in the running for one of my favorite Gerald Levert CDs is "The G Spot".Roy Ayers, "Closure", "Wilding Me Out", "The Top Of My Head" and the title track.Roy Ayers", "You're A Keeper", "Funny", "Do I Speak For The World" (What a message) and "Can't Help Myself".CD set containing my favorite Levert, Gerald Levert and LSG songs.Gerald is saying that he has made all of these sexy, sensual slow jams over the years but at the present time when he was making the track he didn't have that special someone that he sings about in his songs.This track is definitely one of the best Gerald Levert solo tracks that I have ever heard.Gerald is basically saying "I Don't Get Down Like That".On "Wanna Get Up With You", Gerald is basically trying to be "down" with a particular female and is doing his best to let her know that and trying to see if she is interested in any way.This is a nice, uptempo track and is also another one of my favorites on "In My Songs"."Deep As It Goes" is self explantory to most people."Hang In There" has Gerald talking to his woman about trying to stay committed to their relationship and not relying on outside factors such as rumors, gossip, and girlfriends to determine what she feels about things that Gerald may or may not be doing."Sweeter" continues the tradition of Gerald's romantic slow jams as he is talking about in the chorus of being sweeter to his woman tomorrow more than he was today.If only I had lines like that..."What Cha Think About That" has Gerald being infatuated about being in the "chase" of a particular woman that it sounds that he just met.It sounds as if they had done some things and Gerald has been thinking about those past events as well.Once again, the songwriting on "In My Songs" is definitely an A+.On "M' Lady" Gerald talks about the things that he would do for his woman and how we fellas should celebrate the fact if we have a good woman in their lives.Overall, ladies and gentlemen this could very well be the best Gerald Levert solo CD.However, alot of people tried to write off "Do I Speak For The World" because Gerald felt like that was the CD that he needed to make at that time.With "In My Songs", it sounds as if Gerald Levert tried his hardest to get back to basics.If you have ever been a Gerald Levert fan, you need to pick "In My Songs" up.Gerald LeVert was the standout example of the underrated soul singer.What is true about the late Gerald LeVert is that when he was truly soulful without trying to appeal to a younger crowd he was at his best.What is also true is that no matter if he was singing a weaker, forgettable song, he alway sang the hell out of anything he sang.What makes IN MY SONGS great is the fact that everything that has been successful and great about Gerald LeVert's career is pour into these memorable, sexy songs.While G is gone, he will never be forgotten, and he quite possibly left the "masterpiece" of his career via IN MY SONGS.Sure, he is trying a bit to concede to the contemporary urban sound, but he doesn't concede complelely leaving his soulfulness ubiquitous throughout the track and all the tracks for that matter.LeVert's strongest past tracks tend to be ballads, which makes "DJ Don't" feel all that much more stronger."Fall Back" isn't bad, but it doesn't quite allure as much as the previous four tracks, but the incredibly soulful "Deep As It Goes" makes up for any loss incurred via "Fall Back"."Hang In There" isn't bad either, but it is the exceptionally performed and written "Sweeter" that is perhaps the best G track that I've heard in years.Was this review helpful to you?See all 50 customer reviews...Published 5 months ago by D.Levert, this cd did noting for me.Published 5 months ago by V.Memorable Last Words
