From Nothing To Less (Complacency CPCD 9501) CD 63 minutes.Neubauten graced us with Drawings of Patient O.Illusion of Safety albums that I've ever heard.Suite 206, San Francisco, CA 94107.Holy shit, you need this!I'll say it anyways just in case...CD is warranted and recommended.Here's something a little different from this Chicago outfit.Chris Blackford, The Wire.Dot Dot Dot to do live improv performances.O'Rourke began to work with IOS.To, Jim O'Rourke and Eddie Prevost, and Organum.IOS: "I'm not in it for the shock value like Dan Burke...".From the violent to the sublime indeed.Sleep and is kind of a follow up to "Inside Agitator."Dan Burke is the constant element in IOS.Jim and asked him into the group."In 70 Countries" quite a bit.The release of "Water..."Isolationist compilation CD on Virgin is brilliant.Twin piece is very experimental and abrasive, really unexpected.Or those who get the press and airplay.Future Sound Of London used an IOS soundbite.Austria, Germany and the Netherlands.The Haters, Metamkine and Nocturnal Emissions.Burke and his IOS collaborators.The Illusion of Safety is Thrice's second full length album, released in 2002 on Sub City Records.South Central Los Angeles.The Illusion of Safety was very well received by music critics and fans alike.The album received a very positive review from All Music Guide.Links to other media

a9AdsViewNamespace.The easiest way to shoot video reviews.As I said, it's intelligent and diverse music, that goes way beyond "punk".Thrice mixes the "emo" punk style with hardcore screaming and metal.The drummer is insanely good.He's fast, but his fills are thought out and perfectly executed.Yes, this is a very talented band.The songs rarely exceed 3 minutes.Metallica and guitar harmonies like Iron Maiden.The lyrics blew me away.I'll just say if you happen to be reading this review, try this.Your vote will be counted and will appear on the product page within 24 hours."Not once, not twice, but Thrice!I'm still not really sure what those terms mean), and because of it, I nearly missed out on this band.However, my friend Tyke Chandler laid a lot of praise on them, so I decided to give them a try.This album is just amazing.Dustin and Teppei are an incredible guitar duo.Eddie lays down some awesome bass grooves, and Riley's drumming is just too great.That's not a double bass pedal either, he's doing it with his hands.It would take a great singer to front all this, but Dustin's vocals are more than adequate.He goes from screaming to singing softly, and does a great job with both.If you like Papa Roach (the second album moreso than the first), you'll definitely appreciate this.They're similar bands, but Thrice is far more talented.Judging by the likes of Dashboard Confessional and Saves the Day, I would say that emo rock will never be my first choice for music, but hey, one great band is certainly better than none.Was this review helpful to you?Hopeless records "The Illusion of Safety" for a good listen.For only their second record of their career, Thrice set the bar extremely high, and to this date has not put out anything to top this incredible piece of music.Starting off with "Kill Me Quickly", the album hits you hard and heavy.To this day he has not given a better performance on a recorded work (although his clean vocals on Artist In The Ambulance are considerably better).Teppie's riffs are outstanding, combining the technicality of metal with the energy of punk and hardcore, and creating some especially memorable moments on pieces like "Deadbolt" and "See You In The Shallows".The drumming is the best that Riley has done thus far in my opinion.The lyrics however are probably the shining point of the album.Besides the lyrics the band also shines in the fact that they are fully captured in their element on this release, and shows all sides of their sound.The music, the lyrics, the vocals, they all come together to create a sonic soundscape that is equally as rich as it is dynamic.Running at 13 songs, and just around 40 minutes, you won't find yourself bored, or feeling overloaded.Every single song on here is a keeper.While "Identity Crisis" and "Artist In The Ambulance" are both amazing albums as well, "Illusion of Safety" remains as the only of the three which can let you fully appreciate what the band has to offer.If you are looking for memorable songs with intriguing lyrics and probably some of the most innovative music (at the time) around, then "The Illusion of Safety" should satisfy every need you have.Thrice has recorded, and I don't see them topping it anytime soon.Was this review helpful to you?See all 101 customer reviews...Pure energy, gut busting mosh pit music right here.This is Thrice's best CD.I'm going to be straight up, the title says it all.Thrice was a great band, Illusion of Safety is one of the most incredable albums ever.The guitars blaring are pretty good, but the way the lead guitarist rips through the rythm with brief but sharp solos is even better.Riley Breckenridge does a amazing job in a few songs like to awake and avenge the dead,deadbolt,and definetly where idols ounce stood this...Published on January 5, 2006 by J.Thrice Is Nice
