| Brazilian musician, composer, and actor.Silva, he was raised in a favela in the city of Belford Roxo in the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro state.American soul singer Stevie Wonder.In 2001 he released Samba Esporte Fino, a pop album influenced by the likes of Jorge Ben Jor, Gilberto Gil, and Milton Nascimento.It was released outside Brazil under the name Carolina in 2003.Seu Jorge has gained exposure through his work as an actor and soundtrack composer.Dos Santos in Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, for which he provided much of the soundtrack in the form of Portuguese language cover versions of David Bowie classics.In June 2006, he performed at Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee and at the Festival Sudoeste TMN in Portugal.Paulo, Brazil with Jorge and his wife Mariana.Notable songs

a9AdsViewNamespace.No one has tagged this product for Amazon search yet.The easiest way to shoot video reviews.Seu Jorge's songs, NOT including my particular favorite from the movie, "Queen Bitch."Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album after seeing the movie, because I was so impressed with Seu Jorge's interpretations of Bowie's songs.Many songs from "Ziggy" are on this acoustic album, including "Starman," "Ziggy Stardust," "Lady Stardust," Rock 'n' Roll Suicide," "Suffragette City," and "Five Years."By the way, "Seu Jorge" just means "Mr."Seu" is not a first name, just a title.You may recognize him as "Man?Galinha" (literally "Chicken Manuel," but strangely translated as "Knockout Ned") from the movie "City of God."This is a great album for fans of David Bowie and Brazilian music.If you like this album, or acuoustic Brazilian melodies in general, you should check out Jorge Ben's 1974 album "A T?Not the first time, though...Brazilian context are pretty charming and funny (...But the main adaptation is in the lyrics, not in the style.Bowie was really big in Brazil in the '70s and '80s...It is nice to see the session released in its entirety, however one has to wonder if Jorge will ever be able to live these covers down, although it seems his latest album, Cru, is doing pretty well.Excellent for Bowie fans
