| Kiuas is a power metal band from Espoo, Finland.They released a single EP before those three musicians left the band to concentrate on Kiuas.In 2003, they successfully released Born Under the Northern Lights, and soon had many offers for record deals.Winter in June (MCD EP) was released in Finland and was well received in the metal and hard rock community.Later that year, Rage of Achilles reported that they were going out of business due to the fact they could not support themselves due to belonging to so many record deals in such short amount of time.In 2005, they completed and released their first full length album, The Spirit of Ukko, which was based on Pagan gods.It is generally more structured and technical, while keeping the signature sound of Kiuas.Etymology

04.Teemu Tuominen and Atte Tanskanen) found a lead singer, Ilja Jalkanen.EP "The Discipline of Steel" in January 2002 at Studio Tauko.During autumn 2002 the musical style of Kiuas found the right direction and the next EP was ready to be recorded.In December we managed to get all the necessary equipment and the practice flat was turned into a small home studio.We practically lived in our studio during the last two weeks of the year 2002 and managed to record a fair amount of material to the computer's hard disk."Born Under The Northern Lights" EP was released in February 2003 and also got great reviews and positive feedback all around.Young Metal Gods 2003 competition.Many record companies showed interest in the band.Rage of Achilles Records in the summer 2003.The first official release from Kiuas, a four song MCD "Winter in June", was recorded at Studio Tauko and mastered at Finnvox.The MCD was published globally March 29th 2004.Yet again the feedback was excellent, but bad news arose from England.Rage of Achilles' finances had f***ed out and the company decided to call it a day.Kiuas ended the contract in good terms and went ahead with the recordings of the full length debut album as planned, even though Kiuas didn't have a new publisher for the album at the time.Kiuas set out to find a new deal with an album full of rock hard material.Kiuas signed a record contract with Spinefarm Records on September 20th 2004.The debut album "The Spirit of Ukko" was recorded in the familiar Studio Tauko.Kiuas is very grateful to Yki Buckbee who is the main man at Studio Tauko.The album was mixed at Sonic Pump with the guidance of Nino Laurenne.The international release date is May 16th 2005.As we speak the members of Kiuas are either making history in the practice flat, playing a gig or filling up their inspiration in the (in)famous Corner Bar in Hellsinki.This user has either cancelled their membership, or their account has been deleted. |
