CD for my collection.I've ordered the other two Kubusschnitt CDs as well as the wEirD CD (all yet to arrive), of which Andy is a part.Kubusschnitt album experience, so I had no idea what to expect. That's not surprising, since Kubusschnitt members Andy Bloyce, Ruud Heij, Tom Coppens, and Jens Peschke are all fans of Klaus Schulze and the Berlin School of EM.So a track will start rather quiet, perhaps with a few noises tossed in, then you'll get the sequence going.I'm only beginning to mess about with myself.Still the instruments are spread in the stereo spectrum, effects are used judiciously, and the sound and overall mix are very clear.PHASE 01 starts off the album with a swirling, distorted synth growl, eventually interrupted by PHASE 02 with an acoustic guitar sound and a bouncy, flutey synthesizer. The music begins to fill in with pads, and finally a lead and some Mellotron flute appear over the top.PHASE 05 tees up with its own collection of ring modulated synth noises and becomes a bit spooky.PHASE 06 takes over as the previous track completely fades out, and here we have resonant filter sweeps and other synth noises to bridge us over to PHASE 07, which starts with a low synth with a phased filter sweep over the top. It's perhaps the most densely layered track on the album, and, at over 15 minutes, it's the longest.PHASE 09 is pretty much Andy's creation. The other Kubusschnitters weren't available, and a track was needed for a compilation album, and thus PHASE 09 was laid down.In fact, I've worked on sections of my website and this review while it was on.Ric Ocasek solo album intrigued me to the point where it has become my favorite track from the album.Drop by to check 'em out and for more information!Perhaps one of the most thrilling of these bands is Kubusschnitt.Kubusschnitt is Andy Bloyce, Tom Coppens, Ruud Heij, and Jens Peschke.Starting with Berlin School of synthesizers as a foundation tinged with strong Philip Glass overtones, Kubusschnitt has forged the next stage of electronic evolution, setting their sights far beyond the heart of our sun.Immediately, the rhythms are persistent.Generated by layered sequencer textures and keyboard rolls, tempos of lush and deep sounds rush through the mix with their emphatic declarations.Peripheral electronics define their presence with authoritative subtlty, filling every apparent sonic niche. The participation of guitar is unavoidably conspicuous.Dense strains of fiery space guitar wail with furious cosmic intent, adding emotional magnitude to each tune. The charismatic fusion of these lively electronics and dynamic guitar elevates Kubusschnitt's tuneage beyond most other electronic music. These compositions attain high degrees of appeal, commanding the listener's attention with little forceful coersion. On this 72 minute release from 2000, the band produces some startling electronic music of a particularly ominous nature.Chords and cycles are drawn into the central melody to orbit with increasing pace.Intimating the promise of an alien threat from outside your world, Kubusschnitt generates electronic music that excites the listener's thrill factor.Whether plunging into a "Wormhole" or blotting out the sky with a "Hypercube", these compositions appeal to the audience's rhythmic sensibilities as well as the listener's dark side.Kubusschnitt continues its galactic sonic voyage. From its shrill and drifting opening, this music soars far beyond earthly tides to explore realms of sound foreign to mankind.Blending with this perfection, the strains of space guitar wail with passion, flavoring the music with passages of vibrant organic substance. These thrilling chords expand, rising to peaks of epic crescendo.Percussive elements swim immersed in this busy structure, generally sounding their rhythms through rapid cycles of synthesized sounds. All these aspects coexist in balance, with no single drowning out its sonic compatriots (with the pleasant exception of some fiery guitar solos).Among the profusion of bands pursuing this enthusiastic electronic sound, Kubusschnitt's excellence shines like a siren beacon, audible for light years and undaunted by the laws of quantum physics.EirD is actually two members from Kubusschnitt: Jens Peschke and Andy Bloyce.Rhythmic synthesizers share the sonic stage with space guitar during this 72 minute journey into alternate normality.EirD's use of Gottschingesque guitar in this piece is endearing and all too brief. It is in this CD's 26 minute title track, however, that wEirD's own style attempts to mature beyond these influences.Traversing several individual compositions, this epic touches upon a series of strange moods in its duration, each section drifting into the next with deceptive ease.Paul Ellis (from Dweller at the Threshold), Nemesis, Free System Projekt, Robert Carty, Rudy Adrian, Kubusschnitt, Dave Fulton (from Dweller at the Threshold), Synthetic Block, Paul Nagle, Arcane, John Christian (from Airsculpture), and Ramp. There's no ambience going on here.Formed in 1996, Synth Music Direct has established itself as one of the premier global electronic music distributors. It was the first to offer an online shopping site for EM, the first to offer download samples, and provides the...Please enter something to search for.EM which many describe as "more Tangerine Dream than Tangerine Dream themselves".Also see artist Max van Richter.Arcanum create a varied range of Electronic Music but whether they are producing sequencer based tracks using guitar colouring, conjuring brooding soundscapes or really letting rip there is always an instinctive feel for melody.Influences seem many: Mark Shreeve, early to mid Eighties Tangerine Dream and even at times Vangelis but without sounding exactly like any of them.Der Laborant is really Gerd Wienekamp from Rainbow Serpent. His solo work amply shows what he brings to the band as he sculptures the basics of Berlin School into music with a life of its own.Flux but when they left the Innovative Communications label reverted to their own names.Jones enthused EM fans in the late 80s with his cassette releases 'Ri' and 'Icesteps'.Glyn's full catalogue is presented here for the first time, including the incredible 'Ocean of Serenity' and the previously unavailable 'Timelines'.The second album is coming...These two guys have both released some fine music as solo artists but when working together they create some of the most exciting sequencer driven upbeat music around.Andy Bloyce, Tom Coppens, Ruud Heij, and Jens Peschke create Berlin School inspired Electronic Music which is rich in melody and power.Acclaimed UK synthesist Michael Neil has created a unique body of work spanning many styles but focusing on sweeping electronic symphonics and vast astronomical soundscapes.Michael presents here the bulk of his work to date, many unavailable elsewhere.TV soundtrack arena and a clutch of Electronic Music albums, most notably under his 'Arcane' pseudonym. He is always trying something new and moving on to the next adventure.Rainbow Serpent are one of the best Electronic Music bands to emerge from Germany having a rare talent for infectious sequences and sublime melodies. At one moment they can produce tracks overflowing with the joy of life and then in the next turn their hands to growling menacing stuff.Syndromeda is Danny Budts from Belgium. He takes influences from all over the place to formulate a sound and style that is very much his own.He runs a thriving business restoring and manufacturing analogue synthesisers. In his spare time he can also create some stunning EM, making use of all the impressive gear at his disposal...If you like your sequences loud and proud played with an attitude of lets just go for it and have as much fun as we can then this band is for you. This band was started by Grant Middleton from Scotland but after the first album he was joined by Colin Anderson on guitar.Somehow they combined all the excitemnt of improvisation with the skill of carefully crafted composition.Formed in 1996, Synth Music Direct has established itself as one of the premier global electronic music distributors. With an uncompromising pursuit of quality in all aspects, Synthmusicdirect has chosen MusicZeit to be its strategic download platform! This is all new music, performed live at the NSC but it has been tarted up a little.Aqua' and some of the darker bits from 'Sorcerer'.Soft deep melancholy flutey pads mix with little guitar licks.Echoing distorted speech leads us on to the Second Part. The pulsations are supported by lush mellotron then a...To sum up, unless you have the Limited edition all this will be new music.Artist: KubusschnittAlbum: The SingularityLabel: Neu Harmony Kubusschnitt consists of Andy Bloyce, Jens Peschke, Tom Coppens and Ruud Heij.Although inspired by music over 30 years old, Kubusschnitt provides the listener with a cerebral voyage as enjoyable as it is original. The genre came into being through a spirit of exploration and Kubusschnitt continues this legacy admirably. The Singularity is a success on many levels, but primarily due to Kubusschnitt's informed sensibilities when it comes to contour and dynamics. For Kubusschnitt, synth chords are the foundation upon which sequencer tone patterns gallop interlocked through spacetime with improvised guitar and keyboard melodies evoking the mysteries of the universe. The album also has its share of abstract interludes which function as more than a means of transition between the more active areas of Kubusschnitt's electronic pulse music. This points out the interesting relationship between these musicians and their audience.Kubusschnitt brings the music only so far, you the listener, through the act of comprehension, complete the process.Kubusschnitt Interviewed By Dave Law May 2000 An Interview with the 'Cube Cutters'.This interview had to be conducted in a manner that makes it appear similar to an edition of "Call My Bluff".Bluff' per question and Andy was wearing the bow tie at all times. It wasn't really something we had planned, but of course it was a nice thing to happen.Tom says it all quite well.AB Speaking personally, I like all of the above, although I normally have to pay extra for the Prussian discipline.DL What are the musical influences of the members of the group?RH I'm mainly influenced by the oldies from Berlin.EM by Kraftwerk and Tim Blake. At least, not the music I do on my own. We'll have to see how it all goes. These two events are not unrelated. It was at this time that I moved across to listening almost exclusively to Blues and playing lead guitar in a Blues Band.Blues feeling, even in my (somewhat limited) keyboard playing. We enjoy it, but it's not the best thing since sliced bread.RH Having fun, playing music together with others is, in my opinion, the most important aspect of it all. It's like Jarre once said, "Painting with sounds", or something along these lines.AB Speaking personally, I'm glad we all share the same views on such fundamentals as fame and fortune. What can you tell us about these?Rene composes music mainly for programs and series that are about criminal activities (really! The music from Patchwork is therefore perhaps a bit darker than that Kubusschnitt make at the moment.Patchwork is at least different to Kubusschnitt and that's how it should be.JP I started working with Andy as wEirD and also worked with Ruud before Kubusschnitt saw the light of day.I'm sitting on a goldmine, no doubt.RH No, actually I have them, and still smoke these stubs until my fingers get burned to the bone. This page is part of a frame set.If you can't
