Band: MALIGNANT ETERNAL Country of origin: Norway Style: innovative black metal Questions by: Kai Mathias Stalhammar Answers supplied by: T.Reaper: Well the band actually started back in 1991 with me on guitars and vocals and Brynjulv on drums.Lots of keyboards and dramatic atmospheres, fast and slow parts. Can you recall the very first song you ever composed being in MALIGNANT ETERNAL?Were you pleased with the result?Back then we thought it was awsome! It is quite amusing to listen to it today. He could probably not handle the industrial elements of it.What sort of behavior differs MALIGNANT ETERNAL members from others?Reaper: Well all of us are pretty exentric to put it that way. What is the 'lack of talent' to you?Any thoughts concerning TV?Isn't it some kind of a modern mental disease?Russian mags earlier on.And here comes the final question, this time a bit unserious one: do you remember how you've lost your virginity, huh?Choose albums to add to Playlist.Heri Joensen Lamb Of God D.FenestraChorus Of RuinDope Stars Inc.Eternal was originally formed in 1991 under the name Malignant Eternal. The band was given much media attention when it was reported that vocalist T.CD from this powerful and visionary German project. And Outside Glows the Red Dawn shines a dim light on a world of obscure origin, full of dark Germanic mysticism and unearthly sonic terrain. In stylish digipak, lmtd 1000 copies. If Magnus Sundstrom's more well known project The Protagonist is DrJekyll, then his side project, des Esseintes can certainly be seen as a MrHyde..Barbey d'Aurevilly, Les Diaboliques is the first fulllength album for des Esseintes, and it's truly a masterwork. And while Magnus' work has certainly garneredrecognition, Les Diaboliques may just solidify him in the lexicon of theindustrial public, or take him to a whole new level. To a stunned Kansas City audience, Phil Easter (aka Stone Glass Steel) hacks, steals, and manipulates his way through an hour long set of harsh percussion, energetic, driving electronics, and screaming dark wails. From the opening introductory segment.Side project of Erik Jarl, member of the revered and immensely powerful heavy electronics outfit IRM.Scandinavian style, with a battery of iron fisted rhythms hammering down in a thunderous downpour, and the caustic reverberations of the analog doom machine grinding and screeching in a symphony of clangorous and distressed beauty.Guts of Darkness called this THE industrial disc of the year!Check out other reviews in the reviews section.Megaptera, Negru Voda, and all things Peter Nystrom.Malignant presentsthe definitive last statement from this prominent and highly influential death industrial project. The Book ov Shadowz, Death OdorsII, as well as material from the Deep Inside mLP, and more. These tracks capture Megaptera at their grittiest, creepiest, and most horrifying...Magnus Sundstrom, with additional boosting courtesy of Thomas Garrison.Payment covers additional postage necessary, and that's it.The Church of Dead Girls is a darker and more disturbing journey than any previous NTT release, but is nevertheless rife with the brutal honesty which has begun to permeate every facet of the NTT mindset. The Church of Dead Girls asks the listener to face their own worst thoughts and feelings, despite the pain and discomfort, ultimately leaving them with a permeable feeling of uncleanliness. An anguished, confrontational vocal presence makes itself known, exploding in a cathartic aggression brought on by suppressed demons and festering hate.Confrontational vocals, powerful bass and noise that is as dirty as possible.Founding members are John Bergstrom and Brannon Hungness (aka Figure).Hungness is a virtuoso experimentalguitarist and composer and a former member of the Glenn Branca Ensemble.Deeply imbedded in the music and fragmented lyrics are secrets, intertwining themes, voices, and imprinted messages. All come together to create an enormously complex, mercurial mix of surreal, dynamic and dark sounds. To fully appreciate the scope and intricacies of Seraphim Hallucino, headphones in a darkened room are highly recommended. In superb digipak, with artwork by Matt Vickerstaff of darkwaveart. The brainchild of Polish born, but current Maryland resident, Szymon Tankiewicz, Submerged is a dark ambient tour de force.Visually and sonically enveloping, this is an album of space and texture, slowly revealing a psychoactive soundscape of majestic, arcing timbres, circadian buzzes, and expansive drones. In stylish 6 panel digipak, artwork by K.As always, sample heavy, but an integral part of the power that is Propergol, and adding to the sense of madness and pandemonium that permeates this release..Release of the very first, thought to be lost, SGS recording, all remastered and remixed for optimum clarity and pulverizing effect.Equipped with a dizzying array of percussive firepower and churning machine sounds as it's backbone, Dismembering Artists perpetually morphs and evolves with surging eruptions of radiant noise, shimmering factory drones, and velocity driven rhythms.Terra Sancta signifies a triumphant return to the dark ambient roots (Yen Pox, Caul) that established Malignant.Seems like forever since Taint has graced our presence and he sure as shit doesn't disappoint.Extreme noise, feedback, hard, burrowing frequencies, and profoundly disturbing samples, with some killer vocals on this one too.On "Fractured Sunshine" all this madness is present, but Terminal11 have straightened everything out a tiny bit.Desert Earth II), each track a vibrant, isokinetic piece climaxing in tumultuous, majestic patterns, time and time again.Free lmtd edition poster when ordered with multiple catalog items.I've been this impressed by such an artist in years.".Interestingly the sleeve notes indicate that some potions of tracks were recording immediately after waking in an attempt to capture the essence of preceding dream, whilst others were recorded in the small hours in an endeavour to move close to a sleep induced state. On one hand the more subtle tracks work rather well in appropriating the lucidity of a nightmarish dreamscapes, whilst the heavier percussive pieces alternately move towards a tribal industrial sphere.Powerful and aggressive, but not as nihilistic as many industrial soundwars. It took This Morn' Omina three years to reach the next part of the 'Nyan' trilogy, and it was worth the wait.TMO's ability to create a continuous musical flow while welding a conglomeration of single tracks to one logical aural concept is always astonishing and is proven here once again.Nyan' will be continued..Limited Edition of 600 copies only presented in a large black heavy cardboard box with silver print, inlay and postcards.Sorry, but had to raise the price after my initial posting, as the postage will be more than I anticipated..The Doctor Soundtrack feat."The Doctor," a film described by the All Movie Guide as "a surreal landscape of paranoia and despair," is now available on CD and LP.On its own The Doctor is an engaging and original album, but with the benediction of Douglas P.Charleston through the graveyard...Includes the Final Movement LP, the Bloodheat 10", and a bonus track. Here's what I wrote about the original vinyl release: Music for riots!Nice and in your face, so strap on those boots and hit the streets motherfuckers!Blood curdling old school tactics recalling the finer moments of early SPK and Gristle (Hamburger Lady came to mind more than once), with stark but unsettling analog electronics and sickening, droning atmospheres with beats.Disturbingly good music for fans of recent IRM and Haus Arafna output (and of course the school bastards). From SNOG mastermind David Thrussell, "The Fetid Fungi" is his second spoken word album.Hard, rough industrial sounds fusing noise, power electronics, and dirty, dark atmospheres.Digipak, lmtd 100 copies.Fans of first mentioned band will unquestionably appreciate "Christ knows" meanwhile fans of the latter will be devastated in case they expect something similar to the Stereolab'ish soundspheres. The rest of us can just sit back and enjoy this sonic travel back to the early days of true Industrial. The Wardrobe: A Sandwich Short (Tursa: TE002) 'A Sandwich Short' continues the journey from where the previous album, 'Cups in Cupboard' finished. With an ample amount of crows, magpies and deformed city dwellers the album combines the very best of Andrew Liles' twisted and incomprehensible 'vision' with Tony Wakeford's dark sensibilities.Sandwich Short' also features guest appearances from the charismatic and indispensable John Murphy and Helen and Alice Potter (daughters of the infamous Colin)..Empty City (Strange Fortune: SF3) Every Tor Lundvall release is distinct, and while Empty City may in some ways be considered a companion to Last Light, sharing its deep resonating sonic character, in other ways it's an opposite release.Where Last Light was about looking inward, Empty City ventures out to a fantastic, frightening new world, a decayed urban setting much different than anything Tor ever explored in the past. While countless electronic music makers regularly deliver new recordings to fit in the ambient music category, with Tor Lundvall what you get is a new category to discover. We believe what Tor is doing is some of the best and most exciting thing happening in the ambient electronic music world.File under: "ghost ambient."Tor Lundvall rules, period..Tor, and another great work.Last Light (Strange Fortune: SF2) New release from one of my absolute favorite artists, and believe it or not, one which we've never carried before.Tor creates really some of the most beautiful and haunting music I know of they're so highly atmospheric and dreamy, with such a sense of mood, and wondrous emotion and such a personal feel, driven home by the artist's own amazing artwork that graces the cover.Every time I listen to his stuff, I'm immediately transported to a northern forest (maybe the Berkshires in Massachusets) in fall, say, three days before Halloween. If his previous release Under the Shadow's of Trees was his career highlight, then the latest, Last Light, is certainly on par, if not a bit better. It's full of lush, reverbed loaded electronics, soft, pure and melodic vocals and ghostly, enveloping atmospheres.Under the Shadows of Trees (Eternal Autumn: EAE005) Another brilliant release and a necessary companion to Last Light.Apparently it uses environment recordings from Africa, which could have been for me also Norway (home country of Boe). These recordings are sampled and looped in a very direct way, but mixed together with original, unprocessed sources.Contains: "Europe is Dead", "Those Who Do Not Remember The Past Are Condemned To Repeat It" and "Testament" in new versions, made especially only for this release.CD packed in unprecedented excellent case.Martial Industrial, Death Ambient, wartime fanfare and Neofolk. The more accessible side of Toroidh will delight the legion of followers of this monumental act. After a long silence, Tribe of Circle is finally back, and speaking for myself, I couldn't be happier about it."Troum is the next step in the evolution of Maeror Tri, taking the highly processed guitar ambiance of their previous venture and channelling it through a more tumultuous, volatile outlet...The general feel of the sounds here is reminiscent of the earth moving, tectonic plates in constant shuffle, the tracks building and then either shifting or worn away via attrition.Maeror Tri learned to fly through ingenuity, smoke and mirrors, while Troum has taken the ingenuity, smoke and mirrors and, somehow, grown wings."Presented in a stunning digipak..OECD089) The first full length CD from Troum since Tjukurpa III in 2003.Troum at their most glorious, droney, transcendental best.Oneiric ambient industrial near to Maeror Tri's best releases.Martyn Bates of Eyeless In Gaza.Sensitive, sublime and harmonic.ThanX for the add Malignant Eternal!HAPPY LIVE, HAPPY YEAR 2008.MALIGNANT WHEN NEW DISC IN THIS 2008, OK?COME TO MEXICO KISSES................Thanks for the add, good to have you!Ka skjer med denne gjengen da?Hope the day is good to you.MALIGNANT ETERNAL
