Thanks For Reading!Your vote will be counted and will appear on the product page within 24 hours."Metal Church doesn't get mentioned much when talking about the heavy bands of the '80s, but they put out some good albums and this may be their best. The first four tracks, particularly the epic "Beyond The Black", are fantastic. The musicianship is top notch, particularly drummer Kirk Arrington.Megaforce in '85 and after "Highway Star" there was a decent track called "Big Guns."If you like bands like Megadeth or Testament, this is definitely worth checking out. Many times when we think of 80's thrash we tend to go with basically the big four such as Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth, that sometimes we exclude other bands that made thrash great like Exodus, Kreator, Voivod, Testament, Sepultura and Metal Church among others. But today I'm going to write about Metal Church's self titled release which basically is one of those albums that I could really listen to for a long time and really not get tired of it, Ive been listening to this record for 20 years.Kirk Arrington has beats, actually has very good double kick tempos.Duke Erickson has very great bass work here.My favorite tracks on this album have to be Metal Church, Beyond the Dark, Hitman, Gods of Wrath, Battalions and the Deep Purple cover Highway Star.If you are a fan of 80's thrash, get this record.Metal Church never got huge, but this CD sold well.Very Strong Debut
This album is probally a better or equal debut to "Kill Em All" and "KIlling Is My Business" Very heavy, Raw, fast and great vocals by Wayne. It captures what metal is all about. This CD went to my iPod soon after I got it.It's defiantly one of the better metal CDs out there.Blast From The Past
Metal Church is a perfect representation of 80's Thrash and Speed Metal.MUST HAVE metal album
This album is without a doubt THE best Metal Church album released, and lead the sonic assault back in the days of Metal. No doubt about it, this is a real killer of an album. This was everything i ever wanted in a metal album. There's a reason you don't hear Metal Church's name along with the greats.Metal Church is still a decent thrash band, don't get me wrong. The first 3 songs on this album are absolutely amazing, it's the rest of the album that I have problems with.See all 48 customer reviews...Be the first person to add an article about this item at Amapedia.Find out in Music You Should Hear, where these and other artists tell you about the music they love.Off Your StairMaster and Nautilus Purchase
