1.Diggs, later known as the RZA, Grice, later the GZA, and Jones formed Force of the Imperial Master, which subsequently became known as the All in Together Now Crew after they had a successful underground single of that name.In 1990, Ol' Dirty became close friends with fellow "5 percenter," Freedom Shabazz Allah, "Slumlord Shabazz," while both were residing as roommates in Orlando, Florida.Shabazz, hailing from Plainfield, New Jersey, immediately became close friends with "Ason" after graduating from Job Corps in upstate New York along with RZA's eldest brother.The two became inseparable and spent countless hours penning rhymes together and working a brief stint at the local Hardee's and at Universal Studios as laborers at the "Jaws" attraction.Tang (36 Chambers) in 1993.Chambers received enormous critical praise, and is now widely regarded as one of the best and most influential albums of any genre to be released in the 1990s, as well as one of the best hip hop albums of all time.Tang Clan to release a solo album, following Method Man's 1994 effort, Tical.Released on March 28, 1995, Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version spawned the hit singles Brooklyn Zoo and Shimmy Shimmy Ya, which helped power the album to gold status.That same year, he was featured on the remix of Mariah Carey's "Fantasy".B, and hip hop collaborations.The entire incident was filmed by an MTV camera crew and was broadcast nationwide.In February 1998, Jones witnessed a car accident from the window of his Brooklyn recording studio.Using a false name, Jones visited the girl in the hospital frequently until he was spotted by members of the media.Tang is for the children.In April 1998, he announced his new stage name, Big Baby Jesus (the first of many alternate stage names; see the list below), but was never able to give a coherent explanation for the very brief switch.In 2001, with Jones again in jail for crack cocaine possession, his record company Elektra Records made the decision to release a greatest hits album (despite there being only two albums in ODB's back catalog) in order to both end their contract with the unreliable, troubled artist as well as make some money off the publicity generated by his legal troubles.In 1993, ODB was convicted of second degree assault for an attempted robbery and in 1994, he was shot in the abdomen following an argument with another rapper.His wife, Icelene Jones, claimed he had not paid any support in over a year.He was shot in the back and arm but the wounds were superficial.He was issued bench warrants by the Virginia Beach Sheriffs Department to stand trial after he failed to appear in court numerous times.During a routine traffic stop, the details of which remain clouded in multiple versions of events, he was arrested for attempted murder and criminal weapon possession.In February 1999, he was arrested for driving without a license and for being a convicted felon wearing a bulletproof vest (the first person arrested for this infraction under a new California law).After his arrest, ODB reportedly asked the police to "make the rocks disappear".During a court hearing, he once called a female prosecutor a "sperm donor."Coolio did some of that shit."During his time on the run, he hooked up with the RZA and managed to log some time in the recording studio.In the summer of 2002, he was arrested inside a South Philadelphia McDonald's (at 29th and Gray's Ferry Ave.Manhattan court sentenced him to two to four years incarceration.In May 2003, Russell Jones was released from prison.At first, his legal troubles and odd behavior made Jones "something of a folk hero", according to The New Yorker writer Michael Agger.However, Huey writes that "it was difficult for observers to tell whether ODB's wildly erratic behavior was the result of serious drug problems or genuine mental instability ...Russell Jones collapsed at approximately 5:29 p.Tang's recording studio (36 Records LLC on West 34th Street in New York City).His funeral was held at Brooklyn's Christian Cultural Center.To the public, he was known as Ol' Dirty Bastard, but to me, he was known as Rusty, the kindest, most generous soul on earth.Russell inspired all of us with his spirit, wit and tremendous heart.The world has lost a great talent, but we mourn the loss of our friend."Yuen Siu Tien what's surprising is how effective they (still) are.Realisation dawned when I discovered this song appears on the Blade: Trinity soundtrack.Still, a cloned Kittin is better than none at all...This song is currently playing in all of them.Jacques Lu Cont produced this; you'd expect better, really.If you took the namechecks out of this song, there wouldn't be anything left to it but a rather nifty instrumental.You wouldn't want to take them out, though.Not when they bring you the line "then my world turned black, like I was staring out of Stevie Wonder's glasses".Jessica Popper: Another Game single?He seems to have a new one every other week, alternating with 50 Cent.Not that you would notice, considering they all sound identical.Dom Passantino: Admit it, you're surprised.He could have been Lloyd Banks 2K5, but instead he's quite happy to go around biting the hand that feeds, and giving off the appearance of someone that really doesn't understand why he's famous.Joe Macare: Maybe it's 'cos originally I was under the impression that The Game was implying that all the people he names in this song had exactly the same dream, but this took a while to grow on me.Oh, wait, there's that bit where he talks about fancying Mya, isn't there.Edward Oculicz: Madeleine's voice works better on a brisk song like this than it does on her slower songs, and she imbues this Dylan track with a humanity and humility well above the original.Alex Macpherson: Sparseness isn't a virtue when the what's left is so tentative and unresolved that you spend the entire song in a state of expectancy which is never fulfilled: surely the intro riff will change now, surely the big key change will happen in the next bar, surely there's going to be some sort of chorus soon...Peter Parrish: A casual saunter through a Dylan number with butterscotch vocals.They do have great videos and great songs, although the idea of them being the musical equivalent of Top Shop is a bit worrying (they do sell nice jewellery though!Edward Oculicz: Amiably jaunty if repetitive to such a degree that it's only just forgivable, and the first bit of the verses is completely ripped off a song from the 60s or maybe 70s that I can't quite place.Joy Zipper too spiral away, off and above, transcending their influences and sounding like no one but themselves.The slightest difference in vocal intonation can whisk it along the emotional spectrum, landing it almost anywhere between bored and aroused.If something can be both listless and menacing, that's this, lazy like a trickle of sweat down your spine.Ciara herself is even more exquisite than usual: restrained and unruffled in the face of synths so cavernous they could swallow her whole, constantly flirting with subsuming herself in them but always pulling back and rising back through again.Ciara has time to wet her lips between each line.This song is quite staggering, and the more I listen to it the more I'm convinced that it is a genius pinnacle of human achievement.The Final Ever Stylus...Night Falls Over KortedalaBruce Springsteen and the E Street Band...The Flying Club CupBroken Social Scene Presents: Kevin...The Assassination of Jesse James by the...Russell stood immobile for most of the evening, each movement suffused with a subtle import.VH1 parole show and it was very upsetting to see how fucked he is.Big Baby Jesus, we hardly knew ye.What you do for the Community?Josh Timmermann
