| Opera IX is an Italian heavy metal band, created in 1988 by guitarist Ossian.Discography

3.In 1990 the band made the first demo tape "Gothik".Cadaveria's vocals, Ossian at guitar, Vlad at bass and Flegias at drums.The second demo, which contained 4 songs, led to a contract for a 7" EP, which came out in 1993.The band released its first full album, The Call of the Wood, in 1995 under Miscarriage Records.After the CD was released, Opera IX replaced the keyboard player with a new member: Triskent.Opera participated in A Call To Irons an Iron Maiden tribute album, also for Miscarriage Records.The cover chosen by the band was "The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner".There are six songs in total, for a duration of 70 minutes.In the year 2000, Opera IX signed to Avantgarde Music.Simphoniae Misteriorum in Laude Tenebrarum, at the Underground studios in Sweden.Flegias and Cadaveria left the band to form a new musical project, Cadaveria.Opera IX reformed with Taranis on drums and Madras on vocals.Their fourth album, entitled Maleventum, is a concept album about witchcraft and paganism.Madras and Taranis left the band at the same time it was finishing the new album Anphisbena.As of December 2003, the current Opera IX line up features M The Bard on vocals and Dalamar on traditions of the old Pagan religion throughout the keyboards and guitar synth.For the same label the Opera participates in "A Call To Irons" an Iron Maiden tribute album.Among the other bands Vital Remains and Absu.The songs (six in total, for a duration of 70 minutes) are more epic and Black Metal compared to the earlier production, and the sound is a bit less contemplative.The cd is indeed presented in digipak format and a video is made for "Fronds of the Ancient Walnut".Finally in the year 2000 Opera IX sign to Avantgarde Music, a label that totally embraces the expectations of the band; then in January Opera IX records, at the Underground studios in Sweden, the third chapter of their history: "The Black Opera, Symphoniae Mysteriorum In Laude Tenebrarum," an emotional concept album of pure atmospheric and epic black metal with the best production thus far.In September 2001 Avantgardemusic reprints The Call of the Wood, finally remastered, with new cover artwork and two bonus tracks: "Rimes About Dying Stones" and "Born In The Grave".Opera IX with the fourth album, entitled Maleventum, a concept about witchcraft and paganism, plunged in a much more aggressive and epic sound than the earlier works.September 21, Madras and Taranis leave the band for several problems.In this time the Band was completing the agreement of the new album Anphisbena.The project Opera IX not only is a musical concept but a marriage of art and religion where a style of life prevails on the daily life of modern man.The Opera IX walks along the occult roads of the old pagan knowledge 90,991 plays scrobbled on Last.Opera IX is an Italian Black Metal band with Doom, Death and Gothic influences.The band was founded by Ossian in 1988 with Vlad on Bass and Flegias on Drums.Opera IX recorded two demo tapes before Silent Bard, a classically trained Keyboardist, joined them at the end of 1993.This line up recorded The Call of the Wood before Silent Bard was replaced by Triskent who was later replaced by Lunaris before the recording of Sacro Cult.Anphisbena is the best, although Sacro Culto is very good also.Just The Naked and the Dance Best Song .I've thought Opera IX was from France...Her voice was the only really good aspect , but was what rules!The call of the wood is amazing album!!!Cadaveria makes unthinkable things with her voice.Opera IX much more.Cadaveria band sucks, and Opera IX after cadaveria left also sucks.They really should have changed their name when she left..Iron Maiden's Rime of the Ancient Mariner.Her band is even better.Web Site Support

elsewhere on Opera IX, so could you give us a history?OPERA IX born in 1988 from the perverse mind of Ossian, but it is only
