2.Moving the image sensor
2.Digital image stabilization
2.When calculating the effective focal length, it is important to take into account the image format a camera uses. Some lenses include a secondary panning mode or a more aggressive 'active mode', both described in greater detail below under optical image stabilization. The top image does not have Optical Image Stabilization enabled, the bottom image does.An Optical Image Stabilizer, often abbreviated as OIS, is a mechanism used in a digital still camera or video camera that stabilizes the recorded image by varying the optical path to the sensor.Different companies have different names for the OIS technology; for example, Canon, the pioneer of the technology and the first to produce an OIS lens, calls it Image Stabilization (IS), Nikon calls it Vibration Reduction (VR), Panasonic and Leica call it MegaOIS.In Canon's implementation, it works by using a floating lens element that is moved orthogonally to the optical axis of the lens, using electromagnets. This mode is useful when using a panning technique, and switching into this mode depends on the lens, sometimes it is done by using a switch on the lens and on other lenses it is automatic.Active Mode' that is intended to be used when shooting from a moving vehicle, such as a car or boat, and should correct for larger shakes than the 'Normal Mode'.However, Active Mode, when used under normal shooting conditions, can result in poorer results than the 'Normal Mode'.Shift is also used in some cameras Fuji, Casio Exilim and Ricoh Caplio
The primary disadvantage of moving the image sensor itself is that the image projected to the viewfinder is not stabilized.Digital image stabilization
Digital image stabilization is used in some video cameras. This technique shifts the electronic image from frame to frame of video, enough to counteract the motion.Orthogonal Transfer CCD
Used in astronomy, an orthogonal transfer CCD (OTCCD) actually shifts the image within the CCD itself while the image is being captured, based on analysis of the apparent motion of bright stars. What is Optical Image Stabilizer?Diffusive Optical Imaging in Neuroscience
Diffusive Optical imaging may refer to a recent technique that gives cognitive neuroscientists the ability to simultaneously obtain information about the source of neural activity as well as its time course. In this method, a laser source of near infrared light is positioned on the scalp.First, it can be used to measure the absorption of light, which is related to concentration of chemicals in the brain.Second, it can measure the scattering of light, which is related to physiological characteristics such as the swelling of glia and neurons that are associated with neuronal firing.Statistical Detection and Imaging of Objects Hidden in Turbid Media Using Ballistic Photons.Click here to visit 123di.Vincent Bockaert and dpreview.VSD, and other types of neuronal optical imaging. And calcium imaging extends the power of the system further.RAID0 disk arrays for fast data access.Viewers for image and data files.IVISR of the Moores Cancer Center. This temporal dispersion curve, known as the
fluorescent
temporal point spread function (TPSF), can be analyzed to derive the in

imaging offers
higher sensitivity and temporal
resolution than PET at the same spatial resolution in small animals,
but unlike
PET is limited to a few centimeters of tissue depth. This is a standard
imaging
procedure on the eXplore optix
instrument that will be operated by technicians according to prescribed
protocol.The 2D
image is the classic optical image that will be used by investigators
interested in localizing their fluorophores in the mouse, when
concentration
and kinetic modeling are not needed.Since we
believe that
kinetic modeling is critical to assess targeting, calculating relative
probe
concentration as a function of time is important. The TPSF measured by
the eXplore Optix is available for processing by a
variety of
algorithms to yield not
only the fluorescent intensity measured by simpler CW systems, but also
the
fluorophore depth, relative concentration, and lifetime. The field of near infrared optical
image
reconstruction in vivo is dominated by the diffusion approximation, the
first
order approximation to the radiative transfer equation, which describes
the
propagation of light through highly scattering media such as biological
tissue.Gallant

is Optical Image Stabilizer? When the lens moves, the light rays from the subject are bent relative
to the optical axis, resulting in a blurred image because the light rays are deflected.By shifting the IS lens group on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis to
counter the degree of image shake, the light rays reaching the image plane can
be steadied. The center of the image moves downward on the image plane. When the IS lens group
shifts on the vertical plane, the light rays are refracted so that the image center
returns to the center of the image plane. The microcomputer
then converts the detection signals into drive signals for the IS lens group. In accordance with the drive signals, the IS lens group actuator moves the IS
lens group and thus counteracting the image shake and maintaining a stable picture.Angle Prism IS where the IS unit
must be located in the front of the lens, shift IS allows the IS lens group to
be built internally in the lens which allows for a compact design and lighter
weight. |
