Avg: 3.To put the Ozric Tentacles in a nutshell: never before has a prog band put out so many albums that sound so much alike.Although another approach would be due to the similarity of the albums, you can take
your time.Ozric Tentacles has kind of turned into an Ed Wynn project the way King Crimson is a Fripp vehicle.Brandi has taken a major role, playing on five songs and joining Ed in the mixing and production.Prog Archives, and also because I loved the sample
of Feng Shui here.After having it for a while, I realize that OZRIC TENTACLES are only good to have for individual
tracks.This album isn't really a full album experience, but instead some songs put together with similar sounds and
musicians.If you get this album, get it for Sunhair, Feng Shui, and Jurassic Shift.The rest could be easily forgotten.Although this seems contradictory, I still highly recommend the album for the previously listed songs.Studio Album, 1993)

and a number of other sources.If you're going to acquire only one OZRIC TENTACLES album (and most of you will stop at one, given how similar they are),
this is the one to get.What a treat OZRIC TENTACLES is.The great thing about OZRIC TENTACLES is their immediate accessibility.Swirling arpeggio keyboards, clear, emphatic
percussion, funky bass and soaring guitar, with no pesky lyrics to worry about.The OZRIC
TENTACLES are, therefore, the most extreme example I know of a band that is all surface and no depth.Great to listen to when
cruising back, and excellent as background music.Here's their trick: start with a synth loop, bring in the percussion and
rhythm, and then layer guitars over the top.Go for five to eight minutes, rinse and repeat.OZRIC TENTACLES a slightly less trancey version of SYSTEM 7?But without lyrics or great songwriting, these musical fragments never assume any
real meaning, and so no OZRIC TENTACLES album can be described as either a masterpiece or excellent.Just don't
expect anything more than what you hear first time through.This album was my introduction to Ozric Tentacles and psychedelic progressive rock.I'd found it in the casette
player of a friend of mine, borrowed it and never gave it back...Jurassic Shift comes to my mind as an example of that.Even if there are too many things going on: sound effects and
