Poison the Well was originally named "An Acre Lost" and was started by original singer Aryeh Lehrer and original guitarist Ryan Primack.Shortly after their first release as "An Acre Lost", a 12" split with Promise No Tomorrow on Ohev Records, the name of the band was changed to Poison the Well.Poison the Well released their first album Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder in 1998.PTW released their first album with Trustkill in 1999, The Opposite of December...Trustkill has a strong underground following in the United States, and popularity and some success was achieved.Afterward, the band released one more album on Trustkill, Tear From the Red, and released a video for the song "Botchla".In 2003, a year after the release Tear From the Red, the band made their major label debut with You Come Before You.Although the band had experienced success being signed with a major label, on June 13, 2006, Poison the Well announced that they parted ways with Atlantic Records after only one album because of "creative differences".On November 16, 2006 Poison the Well officially joined powerhouse independent label; Ferret Music.Poison the Well's Versions was released on Ferret Music on April 2, 2007 in Europe and April 3, 2007 World Wide.Poison the Well, on February 22nd they began a heavy touring schedule in support of Versions which will likely carry out all year.Due to losing two members this past year; Jason Boyer on Guitar and Ben Brown on Bass, Poison the Well are currently filling live Bass and Guitar slots with: Former guitar tech Bradley Grace and Brad Clifford of Since by Man.The single is available via iTunes and all other download platforms.Bass (Played and toured on "The Opposite of December.."Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines.The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones.Poison the Well covered The Smashing Pumpkins "Today" and "Soma"."Today" was never officially released to the public but a very rough version is available online."Soma" was featured on The Killer in You: A Tribute to Smashing Pumpkins various artist tribute album released in 2006.In early 2001 Poison the Well had plans of releasing a split 7".The other band planned for this split 7" changed three times before it eventually fell through.Poison the Well recorded then new song, "Sticks and Stones Never Made Sense" and a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins "Today" for this split 7".Poison the Well's next full length Tear From the Red.Poison the Well was refused from entering Canada two consecutive times.Both times they were forced to cancel the Canadian legs of their tours.External links
