First Spanish club tour, more French shows

The album Enemies Like This entered the top 10 of America's CMJ chart this week.This is Radio 4's first top 10 album at CMJ.Some of these have been acoustic, but on Monday, Radio 4 could be heard in full band format on Kevin Cole's show on KEXP, playing 'Enemies,' 'Everything's In Question,' 'Grass Is Greener' and 'This Is Not A Test.You can also find the group's session for WFMU archived over here (scroll down to May 8).Radio 4 will also be recording sessions for WOXY in Minneapolis and Y100 in Philadelphia.And don't forget, this Friday June 23, Radio 4 will be featured playing 'Enemies Like This' on Last Call With Carson Daly.June 19

US Tour Dates announced
RADIO 4 WILL BE TOURING THE USA THROUGHOUT JUNE WITH SPECIAL GUESTS SMALL SINS.ENEMIES LIKE THIS ALBUM AND SINGLE ARE BOTH OUT ON MAY 16TH.Also, a video for "Enemies" and remixes from Hot Chip and Tim Goldsworthy (DFA) are on their way.The album will be preceded by a single for the title track.Coincidentally, our original recording of "Caroline," just got picked up for a Nike World Cup commercial featuring England player Wayne Rooney.Mike Greek at Helter Skelter.Our short trek through Europe and the UK will find us doing three festivals, playing with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Germany, Placebo in Spain and New Order in Greece.Outline

Radio 4 is the second most popular British domestic radio station after Radio 2 and was named "UK Radio Station of the Year" at the 2004 Sony Radio Academy Awards for the second year running.The current controller of Radio 4 is Mark Damazer.Because the longwave service can be received clearly at sea in the vicinity of the British Isles, Radio 4 also carries regular weather forecasts for shipping and gale warnings.The station has also been designated as the UK's national broadcaster in times of national emergency such as a war, meaning that even if all other radio stations were forced to close, Radio 4 would still carry on broadcasting.History

The BBC Home Service was predecessor to Radio 4 and broadcast between 1939 and 1967.It had regional variations and was broadcast on medium wave with a network of VHF FM transmitters being added from 1955.Radio 4 replaced the Home Service on 30 September 1967, when the BBC renamed many of its domestic radio stations.It was temporarily replaced on FM between 17 January 1991 and 2 March 1991 with the continuous Gulf War news service.Daily Schedule
Radio 4 splits from the BBC World Service at 0520, with a brief introduction from the early shift continuity announcer.At 1200, FM has a four minute bulletin whilst longwave has the headlines and then the Shipping Forecast; for the same reason, longwave leaves the PM programme on weekdays at 1754.Radio 4 ends with the national anthem, God Save the Queen and the World Service takes over from 0100 until 0520.News is due to return to Broadcasting House in 2008.Radio 4 is marked out by a set of long running programmes, many well over 20 years old.The station is notable for a varied schedule of unusually intelligent and diverse programming.Most programmes are available as streaming audio from Radio 4's listen again page for a week after broadcast, although RealPlayer is required to listen.The BBC has announced its intention to provide an online service provisionally called the BBC iPlayer which would let its licence fee payers access a broader range of its audio and video.Many comedy and drama programmes from the Radio 4 archives are now rebroadcast on BBC 7.Continuity announcers and newsreaders
