3.Daylight: (Randy Edelman) This 1996 urban disaster film
is a suspenseful Sylvester Stallone drama which, despite following a
stereotypical plotline, was received with better than expected applause from
audiences. The director and his production team would go on to create the
better known film Dragonheart later in the same year, with both films
utilizing scores from synth and orchestra expert Randy Edelman.Edelman, following his immensely popular Gettysburg score with these
two strong efforts in 1996.The film was entertaining in its claustrophobic treatment of a
new disaster challenge, and Edelman responded by composing an equally
energized, sophisticated urban score. While many casual film music listeners
associate Randy Edelman mostly with fluffy comedy ventures, the composer has
a distinguished career in nearly every conceivable genre of film.Fans of Edelman's work in this area are used to the combination of
synthesized keyboarding and a moderate orchestra, and usually mixed into his
sound is an array of percussive beats and modern rhythms. His approach to Daylight was surprising
conservative, taking no chances in instrumentation or electronic sampling,
allowing instead the sound effects on the screen to speak for itself. The action music in between isn't as noisy as you might expect."Short Swim Under Water" cue.The
second is a heavier rock song that has nothing to do with the rest of the
album and suffers from this fact.Insert includes no extra information about the score or film.Audio clips can be heard using RealPlayer

Executive Producers Neal H.Randy Edelman has produced a piece like The
Skulls. The Bruce Lee Story and Dragonheart. This track features a piano solo of the theme before the strings
take command and finally bring the track to a rather ominous close.Edelman with mostly thin underscore. This makes The Skulls somewhat of a disappointment and one
that is unlikely to receive repeat listens.Keep in mind I am limited on space here so I
can't publish everyone's comments...Edelman's score for The Skulls is among the better of his most recent
entries. And The Skulls is a great example of that. The Film Music Experience.Genre: Easy Listening
