| The latest FFRPG updates and happenings. We'll keep you updated as the situation develops. Thanks for your patience.Due to persistent spamming problems, new forum accounts now require a board admin's approval to post.Registered accounts are checked for approval once a week. The PDF for Chapter 8 (Gamemastering) is also available on the boards now.Our boards are back up and running. Some posts from the 8th were lost, but this appears to have been the only serious fallout from the attack. The PDF for Appendix II (Monster Construction System) is also available now.Our forums are currently down as a result of what appears to have been a concerted Denial of Service (DoS) attack. All future updates will be made to the new Wiki, located here.Additional FFRPG Third Edition Core Rulebook chapters are now available in PDF format on the FFRPG message boards for proofreading and critique purposes: the Introduction, Chapter 8 (Magic), and Chapter 7 (Combat).Currently available chapters include 1 (Playguide), 3 (Races), 5 (Skills) and 6 (Equipment), with more to follow over the course of the coming weeks.Once all chapters have been released, the final 3E PDF will be compiled and made available for editing and proofing prior to an "official" release. In addition, with Seraphim Guard's recent decision to remove this site as an Affiliate and Kuzunoha's disappearance from the World Wide Web, our Affiliates have been scaled back accordingly. In recognition of what Rob has brought to the project over the years, the title of Project Leader will be similarly retired; further development will be overseen by Senior Developers Rodger Burns, Carl Chisholm and Blair MacKenzie, General Editor James Zoshak, and Managing Editor M R Sachs. An active member of the original FFRPG team, Rob was the driving force behind the Returners group following the "Great Collapse" of 1997, and oversaw the compilation of the FFRPG Complete and the development of the game's second edition.HeartQuest, and a stalwart member of the FFXI Returners linkshell. In order to hit 3E's projected release date, the development team will be organising a number of intensive IRC sessions to clear through the remaining issues.Interested in the FFRPG?Community member Sephorus has established
ReturnerCON, an alternate clearinghouse for playtest data and game discussion for the FFRPG Third Edition.More details regarding the community and its rules and regulations can be found on the ReturnerCON community info page.Announcements and Updates forum has been opened to deal with news comments threads and items which affect both site and forums. Please contact a moderator if you need copies of any particular article or post from this forum before then. The Unsupported and Supported Worldbooks forums have been merged together for the time being, as a prelude to further revamps in the way the entire Worldbook system works. In the meantime, we hope the merger means greater synergy between the two posting groups. The RGi Infodesk forum has been removed; its purpose was never the clearest, and with the Announcements and Updates now open, it doesn't serve any further purpose.FFRPG itself, this has had implications both positive and negative. On the other hand, the channel's administration is a little looser and more casual than an 'official development channel' warrants; moreoever, development talk itself has become something of an afterthought, with general discussion dominating the proceedings.More information on both channels can be found on our IRC page.An overview of our current project, the Third Edition, can be found here, while beta material and PDFs can be found on our Wiki.FFRPG logo by Greg Dean.JPG *
