1.Discovery
In 1991 and at the age of 12, Robyn recorded the theme song for the Swedish television show Lilla Sportspegeln, named Du kan alltid bli nummer ett ("You can always be number one").Robyn was rediscovered by Swedish pop singer Meja in the early nineties.Meja and her band Legacy of Sound visited Robyn's school and were involved with a musical workshop.Robyn's performances captivated the "All About The Money" singer; so much so that Meja contacted her management and a meeting was arranged with Robyn and her parents.Following the completion of her middle school education, Robyn signed to Ricochet Records Sweden, a subsidiary of BMG.Writing duties were assisted by Ulf Lindstrom and Johan Ekhe, who also helped to produce the album, and they stayed on board with Robyn until the completion of her "Don't Stop The Music" opus in 2003.Robyn Is Here
Robyn started out her career in the pop music scene at age 16.These singles became part of the album Robyn Is Here."Show Me Love" and "Do You Know (What it Takes)" were released. As Robyn's popularity grew across the globe, especially in the United States, she was lined up as the support act for the 1997 Backstreet Boys tour. However, Robyn was diagnosed with exhaustion and she quickly returned to Sweden to recover. My Truth
Recording began on Robyn's second opus in 1998.My Truth was a poignantly autobiographical release for Robyn, and included the tracks "Universal Woman" and "Giving You Back" which emotively explained her secret abortion. The album did achieve synonymous acclaim, and critics remarked on Robyn's seamless evolution as an artist.Robyn's record company, RCA, publicised their intention to release her subsequent efforts in the United States.Robyn was uncomfortable with the prospect and valued her artistic credibility above her record company's advice, and so My Truth was not released in the United States. In 2001, Robyn contributed the song "Say You'll Walk The Distance" to the soundtrack for the film On The Line. The song was later covered by fellow Swedish pop singer, Darin Zanyar. In November 2002, Robyn swapped labels at BMG (from RCA to Jive Records) and released the album Don't Stop the Music in Sweden. This demonstrates the strength of the material although Robyn was not able to showcase it.Understandably, the singer was discontent with her mismanagement and plans were underway for the termination of her record label contract. In May 2004, the album Robyn's Best was released in America. It is essentially a shortened version of her first album and contains no other material from her latter albums.Med Robyn (The Best of Robyn). However, another Don't Stop the Music single, "O Baby", is included.Robyn
The decade long relationship between Robyn and her label ceased in 2004.Robyn decided to go it alone. In early 2005, Robyn announced she would be leaving Jive Records to start her own record label.Konichiwa Records was created, with its aim firmly set on liberating Robyn artistically.Teddybears STHLM, Swedish duo The Knife and former Cheiron producer Alexander Kronlund.Robyn released her new single "Be Mine!"March 2005, and a month later her fourth studio album Robyn.Robyn received rave reviews for the Swedish soul star.Pop Kvinnlig" (Best Pop female). It also garnered Robyn interest on a global level.Robyn also gained recognition for writing the song "Money For Nothing" for Darin Zanyar, his debut single.Robyn released three more singles "Who's That Girl?"Robyn also went on to feature on the Basement Jaxx track "Hey U", taken from their album Crazy Itch Radio, released in 2006.International comeback
In December 2006, Robyn released The Rakamonie EP in the UK as a preview to her more recent material. This was followed by the release of "Konichiwa Bitches" in March 2007.The revised edition of Robyn was released in the UK on April 2, 2007.BBC Radio 1 and was released in late July in digital format and early August physically, reaching number 1 in the singles chart in the UK on August 12, 2007.Robyn has also been featured on Jo Whiley's popular Radio 1 showcase show, Live Lounge which is a reflection of her growing popularity on British shores. The track has now been receiving airplay at US pop and dance radio stations.Konichiwa Records also signed an international licensing deal with Island Records in order to launch and distribute Robyn's music across the globe, The US edition is set to be released sometime in 2008.Personal life
Robyn's parents are actors, and she was herself involved in acting at the age of 9, having an extra role in Kronbruden at the Swedish theatre Dramaten. She was discovered by the Swedish pop singer Meja while singing about her parents' divorce. After the release of her second album in 1999, My Truth, Robyn became a UNICEF ambassador and visited, among other countries, Kenya and Tanzania. In 2000, Povel Ramel awarded her the Karamelodiktstipendiet; a scholarship for her musical achievements where most of the reward lies in the prestige and honour, and not financial incentives.According to Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 Switch show on the 6th January 2008, Robyn's drink of choice is Guinness.Official UK website

Without any fear...See Terms of Use at www.This notice must be retained in the code as is!Just trying to make a point.Between the four of us we shared a vegetarian combo, something with lamb, something with another meat, and cottage cheese in three states of being seasoned.I'll explain this more later. This entry took place on December 28th.Once again, I'm way behind.Delaware Memorial Bridge it rattled against the side of the car with an, "I'm going to fly right off, weee!"Tristan's apartment in Charlottesville around 1:15 PM.My best friend while driving
1.This is just a heads up to say that I got back from Charlottesville on Tuesday night and HELL, I'M TIRED.I'm working and Tristan came back to NJ with me to hang out.Downtown Mall and I was something like a 10 minute walk from it.My most awesome meal was at Aqui Es Mexico.Annnnd that's my little update.Hope to have a real one soon.Charlottesville in one piece!Just wanted to let you know!OH YES, and thank you so much for your recs!I'm always baffled when people come out of the woodwork to recommend things to me.Hell, that I'm still awake even though I'm supposed to get up at 5:30 AM (or earlier) is already an indication of FAILURE.New Year's Eve plans, Tristan is having a party at his apartment.Just hit me up for more info.Hopefully this isn't what you see before you die
MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU GUYS!I'm not exactly being serious. So where was I on Saturday night?Does McDonald's dare grace this blog? The answer to all these questions is a colossal, "YES."Continue reading "Gorging with Olivia: Burgers, Gelato, and Persian Food"...Kathy already wrote about our meal a week ago.As we waited outside the restaurant for Janet, Kathy said something comical about not wanting to indulge in anything too heavy (such as the "fried yucca with chunks of fried pork" that I had my eye on).We have do this while we're still young and packed with healthy, vivacious organs. It's not like we're underaged binge drinkers or drug addicts, you know? They go together like...And thus the dark period of gorging myself at McDonald's comes back to haunt me.After I grew out of the "If It Comes With A Toy, It Must Be Good" phase, it was all about the fat and the salt and the various chemicals used to enhance the flavors of fat and the salt. But really, it'd be good if you knew HTML.Check out Serious Eats for more info.Physically, it exists, but it doesn't fulfill the purpose of this blog. The major reason is because I have the flu, along with some kind of bronchial infection that is causing all my phlegm to be painfully coughed out in shades of yellow and green. It's a rainbow of disease!Anyhoo, that's the update on Robyn's health.Unless these antibiotics don't work. And I didn't even pay anyone off! While I am very flattered to have been nominated for an award, I'm not sure I deserve it.KIDDING, KIDDING, kind of.Food Apparel
To help you out with your gift giving this holiday season, I wrote an Food Apparel Gift Guide for Serious Eats (also check out the full list of SE gift guides).Get your loved one some comfortable shoes!Did you hear the part where I said "sweaty steak?"Chocolate also makes a lovely gift, as long as it's not being given to someone in the 0.Menu 4 Hope
Finally, check out A Menu 4 Hope, a charity raffle organized by food bloggers where you buy tickets for the chance to win awesome prizes with all proceeds going to the U.There are books, chocolate, baked goods, ALL KINDS OF TASTY SHIZZ.There used to be ads, but after I didn't...If I had ads, this is where they would go.It's kind of ironic that the only way I could've actually gotten anything out of google ads was by going against the terms of use.Buy stuff through my amazon ID!Threadless Street Team thinger!Get webhosting with Dreamhost.Subscribe in a reader

one of the most highly important indicators of learning. When you process an idea and can discuss it, perhaps by relating it to your own experience, and ask and answer questions about it in a group, shows that you have learned a concept well. This intelligence works well for students who may have difficulty in reading but are more highly gifted in interpersonal intelligence.I'm hoping to rewire LifeI challenge you to be imaginative with April Grove's OPI meme as I was!Photo Credit Flickr: Give Hope. One wonders why fears appear out of nowhere when life is good. But, what do you do about that? But the strange part is, I thought of my friend as a worrier. In fact research shows that one in four people experience anxiety at some point in our lives.Worry a special form of fear "Worry is a special form of fear," says Edward Hallowell in a Psychology Today article."It is what humans do with simple fear once it reaches the part of their brain called the cerebral cortex. We make fear complex, adding anticipation, memory, imagination, and emotion."What tactics work against unfounded fears that rear their ugly heads in the middle of the night?Think on Scriptures At times when I slip and fall into needless worry, if I think of approprite scripture, it changes my perspective very quickly. For example, Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God.And you count far more to him than birds. Then I give thanks for the many ways God has blessed me.Turn on a National Public Radio station Hearing what's going in Inside Europe, takes my immediate attention off my worries. The facts and information move my mind away from former thoughts.Best part is the speakers' voice often works just like a lecturer and puts me right back to sleep.Self Magazine, November 2007."There are 50 ways I could screw up, and I've got to avoid them all."Keep a journal Jot down your worry, then in a few days or weeks, write the outcome. What you'll find: Things usually turn out better than you think they will. Then let it pass rather than allowing anxiety to ruin your quiet night at home.Peel an orange The next time a thought threatens to snowball into a stressfest, grab an orange or grapefruit.Press your nail into the skin, peel it back and smell the citrus scent, focusing on every sensation."Rather than worry about the future, you can bring yourself into the moment," psychologist Robert Leahy, says. You probably can't recall the worries linked with these experiences, or, if you can, you may see that most never happened (e.Tell yourself that current worries will fade from memory, too.Neurofeedback Ellen Weber says that neurofeedback works like aerobics for the brain...Could you relieve stress that leaves most people anxious and frustrated?Fears often trigger stress for people who focus more on past mistakes than on future opportunities ...Suggest just one doable solution to one problem you face, for instance, and you literally rewire parts of your brain for the next winning solution.Wendy Piersall's excellent strategies at Ten Questions to Turn a Bad Day into a Good Day.Let's hear what you do when all's going well at work and life, yet fears suddenly grip your mind...Happiness is not a brilliant climax to years of grim struggle and anxiety.Fears like this are incredulous.Once a worry takes hold in the night, it's hard to get more zzzzz's.That ever happen to you?I've experienced it at times. My head seems cloudy on such days.Strange part is, life is really good and I don't have stingers that might bring fear.Interestingly, many people live a good life, yet fall into a trap of fear or anxiety.Do you find you fall into the mindset of "What if..."Even those individuals whose lives are going well may worry excessively on occasion.Worries generally don't become realities Dr.Thomas Borkovec, Penn State University researcher discovered that fully 85 percent of the things we worry about never occur.Reasons people worry "Worriers hope to gain a feeling of sureness," according to Robert L.Leahy, PhD, author of The Worry Cure."They want to avoid disappointment or staunch a problem before it gets out of control."Or 'It's only because I worked 10 times harder than anyone else. That kind of thinking leaves you feeling inadequate, whatever you accomplish."If you always think, What did I do wrong?Scientists at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging in London recently mapped out mental responses to show how the brain responds to different levels of fear. The brain's response changes the closer a threat gets. When threats seemed more distant or less likely to strike brain activity was observed in lower parts of the prefrontal cortex.Brain's emotional center Researchers are noting differences between fear and anxiety...Studies show that different parts of the amygdala process anxiety versus fear.If you subliminally present faces expressing fear to subjects, the subjects aren't actually aware of seeing the faces, but the amygdala responds.Tactics to combat fears and worries...Carl, made about East Koy...It would be interesting to hear from you..."When you consider that we might have a total of about 30 people living in the area of the Four Corners, that's a real lark!Do you ever claim something for yourself with great imagination? And your brain changes with laughter...When you can laugh at yourself, you can really turn things around...In the vein of imagination I'm using ideas from musing in the middle zone, serving chaos, filling up my glass, designing my writing life, writing with more confidence, using more of my brain, thinking unconventionally and what Dad would say, as I tune up my emotional intelligence to learn more joyfully and
