(Gotta Get Some Action) Now!I'm gonna get a copter tattoo too..Discovered this band by picking up 'By the Grace of God' from the album cover alone. We're conducting a survey and would like your input.Want More The Hellacopters?Highlights: A smokin version of her hit single Tambourine and a killer verse from Party Like a Rockstar.Having toured Europe with the likes of Kiss, The Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters, The Hellacopters are widely recognized as one of rock's elite not only in their native Sweden, but around the entire world.Don't be misled by the title, though: Rock and Roll Is Dead is living proof that the genre is alive and well and that as they begin their second decade of international conquests, The Hellacopters will continue to be its heartbeat. With Royale on vocals and guitars and Dregen on lead guitar, bassist Kenny Hakansson and drummer Robert Eriksson (The Sewergooves) completed the rhythm section.Preparing a crowd of thousands for Kiss fans was a test of rock n' roll merit that The Hellacopters passed with flying colors, giving ample ammunition to the band's budding legend.Supershitty to the Max, in 1996.Anders "Boba Fett" Lindstrom, The Hellacopters recorded their highly praised sophomore release, Payin' The Dues.European debut for Universal Records), surfaced in 2001.By this time, The Hellacopters were widely hailed as Sweden's best rock outfit, and they would not lose sight of that as they went into the studio to record By the Grace of God.Released in Europe in 2002 and two years later in America, By the Grace of God became The Hellacopters' second record to go Gold in Sweden.Mondo in Sweden, which included live performances from their friends Gluecifer and the Flaming Sideburns, while members of The Hellacopters got to play DJ throughout the night. The resulting Rock and Roll Is Dead was recorded in The Hellacopters' hometown of Stockholm at Atlantis Studios with longtime producer Chips Kiesbye (Millencolin, Sahara Hotnights) and engineers Michael Ilbert (from the Hives and Supergrass to Celine Dion and the Backstreet Boys) and Janne Hansson (from ABBA to Sonic Youth).Guest appearances from The Hives' Howlin' Pelle Almqvist and The Soundtrack of our Lives' Mattias Barjed pepper the record, but as usual, it is The Hellacopters themselves who make the record memorable. The Hellacopters are practically a household name in Europe, they haven't lost their senses of humor along the way.The Hellacopters hasn't posted a blog yet.The Hellacopters hasn't posted any shows yet.The first single will be out on March 20th.Some good news: Our new store is up.Two years ago, a record called By the
Grace of God was released in Sweden.Nicke was writing songs and drumming
in the Swedish death metal group Entombed. From the beginning, it was apparent that
the Hellacopters were destined for more.Payin' the Dues, their early
work was loud, brutal, overdriven rock. Here in Europe it will be Universal.American Universal did not want to
pick up the option.Backyard Babies and Entombed were
like the main bands for them at the time.RE: We had a little bad luck with the American
labels.Right now we have a vacation.Every time, we have four, or five, or six guests,
that sing one song each.MC5 thing, and he has the club.We went on tour four times in
America in one year.PCP: You tour a lot in Europe, I know, but not
too much in America.PCP: Yeah, you always hit the west coast and
the east coast, but not the middle. It was hot as hell of course
but really fun.Australia and Japan, and last
year we went to Brazil for the first time.We got the obligatory photo. What are you gonna say to them?PCP: So in Sweden are you really big stars,
very successful?Germany or Spain or anywhere, there are
good bands everywhere.Ever since the seventies, ABBA even, people
can see that possibility. Will the Hellacopters
be coming to the US this year, or next year? What are your future plans? The sooner the better is right. |
