It is no wonder that this book won the Newbery Award for 2006."The Higher Power of Lucky" is an inspirational novel for young readers from grades four and up (and even for adults...Scrotom aside, this was a simple, enjoyable book.TOO simple to be a Newberry.The story is good, but I think this book is not appropriate for elementary students.The author could have had the rattlesnake bite the dog on the leg or tail or any other body...At first, I thought liked The Higher Power of Lucky.Upon further reflection, I realized that I adore this book.Lucky because she is funny.Lucky hasn't had it very well.And Lucky now lives in a tiny dusty town of about 43 residents...The higher power of lucky
