Lead guitarist Tad Kubler and frontman Craig Finn (both formerly of the band Lifter Puller) first had the idea to form the Hold Steady when sitting at home watching The Last Waltz.Finn asked Kubler, "Dude, why aren't there any bands like this anymore?Jop critics poll that year.The band was Blender's 2006 Band of the Year.The album was a loose concept album following the exploits of a character named "Holly" (short for Hallelujah) and her quest to find a balance between Catholicism and rock and roll through drugs and an apparent resurrection.After Separation Sunday, for its third album the band moved from the Frenchkiss Records imprint to Vagrant Records.Rolling Stone Best Albums of 2006 list, and third by The A.Minnesota Twins home games during the 2007 season.Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has proclaimed The Hold Steady his favorite band.In 2007, several the band's songs appeared on soundtracks: "Girls Like Status" on that of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, and "Stuck Between Stations" on that of The Nanny Diaries.References

Well I'm a late convert to the Hold Steady, having just bought the newest CD Boys and Girls in America about a month ago (and listening to it nonstop since then).Published 10 months ago by Daniel E.Rock 'n' roll is alive and well thanks to the Hold Steady, amen.This album is a must have for those who love to rock, and it just may hit you where it counts if you're lucky.The style of the Hold Steady gets old really fast; the singer doesn't even sing, he only talks while guitar goes on in the background.Save your money
