| "Are you sure you want to block this user?And we like it that way!Sounds LikeWe sound like ourselves.Actually, it's kind of hard to say.My Favorite Link of the Day!!!Kim Shattuck formed the Muffs with bassist Ronnie Barnett, drummer Criss Crass and Melanie Vammen in 1991.Muffs were picked up by Warner Bros and subsequently released their powerful eponymous debut album in 1993.Shortly after, Crass left the group and was replaced temporarily by drummer Jim Laspesa for the tour.Redd Kross drummer and longtime Muffs friend Roy McDonald joined the group.Happy Birthday to Me followed in 1997 and two years later in 1999 Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow was released by Fat Wreckords; a rarities collection, Hamburger, appeared in early 2000 on Sympathy for the Record Industry...The Muffs released their new CD Really Really Happy on Five Foot Two Records during the Summer 2004 and toured the US and Japan later that year."Are you sure you want to delete this comment?"Freemblap thanks you for the add.MySpace CommentsTHANKS 4 THE ADD!To the Muffs from Speed of Dark!Merry Christmas to the Muffs!!!Miffed Muffs fans in Dallas await a gig here!Don't think they are really that similar though.Have a vuffy Muffy Christmas!Id + " Link: " + targetLink.The Muffs are a rock band based in Southern California, formed in 1991.After releasing their initial 7" EPs and singles independently and on local labels, The Muffs signed to Warner Bros.Records in the early '90s.In spite of this the Muffs set the stage for the success of bands like Green Day, and producer Rob Cavallo.Despite the wide exposure afforded by appearing on a wide variety of movie soundtracks (Clueless director Amy Heckerling, in particular, had taken a keen interest in their songs) as well as a lucrative Fruitopia commercial, The Muffs were eventually dropped from the label.The Muffs have since continued to release new records on various independent labels.Ironically, McDonald's former band Redd Kross had released a 1987 single, "Play My Song," whose chorus was viewed by many as directed toward The Pandoras, who had recently moved into a glam metal direction: "No metal sluts or punk rock ruts for me, oh no."Kim Shattuck, Ronnie Barnett and Roy McDonald.The Muffs are currently taking a long break from music but have announced they have not broken up.Trivia
Kim Shattuck sang in a NOFX song, "Lori Meyers" on the album Punk in Drublic.Their cover of "Kids In America", originally by Kim Wilde, was used in the soundtrack for the movie Clueless in 1995.Shattuck, this was a reference to the lead singer of The Muffs.External links
