| The Sheer performing in Zwolle (2006).The Sheer is a Dutch band playing pop and melodic rock music.They had some success with the single Right Now and the debut album The Keyword Is Excitement!In 2004, the band won the prestigious Zilveren Harp (Silver Harp) for their contribution and promise to the Dutch Pop Culture.History
2000: Four friend of a music school start to rearrange old songs and write some new ones."The Sheer" was born.Bart van Liemt, lead singer and foremost composer of the band, is inspired by the British pop and rock music from the sixties and the Britpop movement from the early nineties.They release their first demo and start in september 2001 with the "Meet The Sheer Tour".The Sheer are doing a lot of concerts and make appearances on both the regional and national radio.Radio programs such as "BNN For Live" on Radio 2 and "Isabelle" on 3FM were only a few shows on which they were asked to play.During "Popslag 2001", a 3FM talent show, The Sheer reach the finals and are elected winner at first.After a recount the conclusion is reached the band "This Beautiful Mess" had just a few more votes and the Sheer become an honourable second.Their debut on national television took place on TMF and The Sheer are invited to "2 Meter Sessies" on Kink FM.FIFA 07
