| After a gig in London, Stray Cats met producer Dave Edmunds, well known as a roots rock enthusiast for his work with Rockpile and as a solo artist.They were popular immediately, scoring three straight hits that year with "Runaway Boys", "Rock This Town," and "Stray Cat Strut.""Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut" hit the top of the American charts thanks to MTV airplay.Rant N' Rave With The Stray Cats, was almost as successful.MTV, "Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut" both hit the American Top Ten, over a year after their British chart peaks.Rock Therapy, which sold poorly.Rumble In Brixton, included one new studio track, "Mystery Train Kept A Rollin'."The Brian Setzer Orchestra.Rocker and Phantom went on to form Swing Cats as well as releasing some solo material.Albums

rock enthusiast for his work with Rockpile and as a solo artist.Gonna Ball, wasn't as well received, and stung by the negative reviews, the Stray Cats decided to return to the States and make a go of it.They signed with EMI America and in 1982 released their U.Built for Speed, which compiled the highlights from their two British LPs.In late 1984, Setzer broke up the band amid much bad blood.Rock Girl, but I passed on it.The title track is a blast, a 100 mph rockin' start.Records release Choo Choo Hot Fish.Orchestra and picked up a Grammy for best instrumental performance.Faster was an improvement.Lee and Slim Jim providing a frantic rhythm like the golden days and Brian playing some glorious guitar.That was pretty much it then as far as the Stray Cats goes.Carl Perkins tribute at and they had like forgotten about us overnight.He knows more about that style of music than anyone we've ever met.Runaway Boys and it was like the first song we ever did in like a proper recording studio.LR: He's a rocker and he's a guitar player, a musician as well as a producer.The Race Is On video plays.Jim helped with the lyrics and it took a while to get right.SJ: That's at Monsurat.And we had a good rap with our director Ian Leach.SJ: And we had leather jackets on and had to look like we were comfortable.BS: It was good because it came out sweaty and gritty.BS: Yeah, especially France.AP: You must get a tremendous buzz out of that?AP: And you're had positive feedback from pretty well all of them.You're just like we were but in your own way.LR: I don't think I've ever seen artists.Brian: "I hate to start picking us apart like a doctor, you know.Do you think you could have made it in America on talent alone?Brian: "I think looks are part of my success.So, man think about sessions in your old age!"Brian: "Elvis was the best.You're not using the same overtly sexual gestures that Elvis used.How much of the purist is there in The Stray cats?Brian: "I don't think you can go too far with it, y'know, but we do what hits us."Jim: "The more time that we can write, the better.Brian: "We were really getting fucked about pretty bad with Gonna Ball."There are very few bands that can actually override the press there.Jim: "That's really the thing here.I'd rather hear that than a lotta "new music".Brian: "Yeah, we're changing all that.Jim: "We started a new market here, which is good.But the giant corporations looking for another Stray Cats is exactly what could destroy it.Even it they're stoopid, they can tell that.Lee: "Good old British reserve."You got people hanging around outside your house trying to steal the garbage!Brian: "I think this band would have made it if the bottom had fallen out of the stock market.We're selling records down here in
