| Tom Schuman was born on January 31, 1958, in Buffalo, NY.His parents were reluctant to give him
lessons because of their own struggles with the music business. When they
heard him playing jazz chords, improvising and writing tunes at age
seven, they felt compelled to provide him with all of the musical support
a child could possibly have. For five years he practiced
every day after school but soon grew an aversion to classical piano
because of its lack of freedom.Tom's first "real" gig (other than church organist) was for his high
school.Luckily for Tom, he was not seriously hurt.To this day, he
considers that to be the worst gig he ever played.Well, to make a long story longer, he quickly began playing with a lot of
local pop and jazz bands after joining the musicians' union. It was a
great experience playing in night clubs at the age of sixteen. All of this
contributed to a realistic perspective of the profession early in his life. The music was fresh and vibrant.Apparently, Jay and Jeremy both liked his playing enough
to invite him to perform on their recording project. From the writing, to the performances, to the production,
to the mixes, to the packaging...Yvonne (hence the Valentine's Day release).Known primarily as the man behind the vibe for Spyro Gyra for more than 25 years, Tom has sporadically jumped out as a solo artist at various times during his tenure with the group.Spyro Gyra, but to himself and other groups as well. His previous release as a solo artist pushed him more into the direction of mainstream.Although he is best known for his history with Spyro Gyra, Tom Schuman is gradually being recognized by the general public as one of the most significant artists of his time.Tom Schuman was born on January 31, 1958 as the second son of Wally and Marion Schuman.Wally Schuman was a Jazzbassist and Marion Schuman was a Jazzsinger. When he was seven years old, Tom was just able to play Jazzchords, to improvise and to compose songs.Charlie Fadale on drums.Tom the first chance to compose and to release his new songs on a jazzrecord. He gave radio interviews and came in contact with a lot of European musicians.Find A Way2 Yvonne3 Quality Time4 Portrait of my Father5 Mysterious Ways6 Samba for Two7 Because of You8 Shinjuku9 Past Stories10 Easy Kill11 Third Spirit12 Nothing More to Saytry thisalbums you will loveBAATIN: Sunday BrunchSTEVE CLARKE: Kickin 'Itgenres you will loveJazz: Jazz FusionJazz: Contemporary JazzFeaturing PianoBy LocationUSA: MarylandRecommended if you like ...Herbie HancockMcCoy TynerGeorge DukelinksTom SchumanApple iTunesEmusicPassAlongTradebitPayPlayGroupieTunesNexhitnotesThe critics are raving; JazzTimes, Jazziz, jazzreview.Tom Schuman is the longtime keyboardist for Spyro Gyra. His dream is to someday be able to balance his solo career with guest appearances on albums of other artists as well as Spyro Gyra and find the time to score a movie or two.Who knows, with music as a vehicle, there will be no limits to Tom's creative influences on the sounds of the future. Now also pursuing his solo interests, Tom has a new solo project, Into Your Heart. From the writing, to the performances, to the production, to the mixes, to the packaging...Every aspect of this CD represents a large piece of my soul.Les Baxter of THE LES BAXTER FACTORTom's got more soul than any ONE person should be allowed!JazzferTom had touch my heart whith his new CD...But, Bud told me that most all the various instruments you hear on the CD are played, virtually, by Tom.Tom Schuman finds the key Into Your Heart.Tom composed and produced all 12 tracks, with much of the work done at his Bethesda, Md.Schuman, himself an accomplished jazz bassist.Tom Schuman has invited some of the greatest artists in the business to join him: Peter White, Chuck Loeb, Jeff Kashiwa and vocalist Angei, just to name a few.The music on this CD is frtracks1 Fearless Fostic2 All This Love3 Coming Attractions4 Your Song5 Every Body Knows6 Quality Time7 Habla Serio8 Y B Lonely9 Redondo Beach10 Pleasure and Pain11 More Than Just Love12 Until You Come Back To Betry thisalbums you will loveGODWIN CARMONA: You Save MeTOM SCHUMAN: Into Your HeartTOM SCHUMAN: Schuman Naturegenres you will loveJazz: Smooth JazzJazz: Jazz VocalsFeaturing PianoBy LocationUSA: NevadaRecommended if you like ...Tom Schuman has invited some of the greatest artists in the business to join him: Peter White, Chuck Loeb, Jeff Kashiwa and vocalist Angei, just to name a few. Please log in to email this artist.Receive Free You Heard It!Preview tracks from Starting Now.Read his latest news, see his videos.Get FREE UPDATES for Tom Schuman!More Tom Schuman Albums
