Forgotten your password?Interstellar Fugitive Tour 2007 Scores a TKO!The Detroit Underground surfaces in NYC courtesy Underground Resistance and an array of sonic mercenaries on a monthly mission at APT.Nomadico (aka DJ Dex), who has worked with the likes of the UK's Intalex and NYC's own Nublu Orchestra, leads the way partnering up with others from the UR camp and beyond.Work With UR Through Alter Ego!It's that time of the year again! The time when Alter Ego Management (of whom Underground Resistance is our biggest client! We will be interfacing with Submerge (of course! It's an unpaid internship, but college credit CAN be arranged. This is an internship for people interested in the BUSINESS of music, in particular, artist and project management and artist relations. We do not have any music production internships available. The time frame is for four months for anyone looking to receive any sort of college credit as an independent study from January to April.Anyone simply looking for experience can discuss with us the parameters of what he or she is looking to accomplish with the internship and how long that may be.Given the nature of the work, there is a tendency to assume this is casual, "fun" work, and it can be, but schedules and deadlines can be critical to the functioning of the label and there will be some very unglamorous, boring work that still needs to be done as well. While some of the tasks can be tailored to your strengths, the real development comes from taking on challenges that you may be unfamiliar with so that you can grow. The position involves being exposed to a number of problems, the successful candidate will be a person who knows how to find solutions.Experience is NOT a prerequisite, only a strong desire to work and learn.Given that the position may expose you to sensitive information regarding artists on this label and others, a confidentiality agreement is required.Any written documentation of the internship, including academic, is subject to review before dissemination. Please make certain to put "Internship" in the subject line. For those of you who don't know, the UR Forum was the place where operatives of all types could come and share their thoughts, ask vague and obscure questions, and yes, sometimes interact with UR agents such as Nomadico, Atlantis, and others (yes, the UR lurk quotient is high)! Are you tired of the same ole shit gittin played over and over again on your radio station? Is your radio station poisoning your mind, your community and your spirit? This Double pak is definitely not friendly!!Tech Jazz seekers take cover!!F00000', 'xemp3botplayer', '230', '20', 'transparent');*You may have to double click the files to stop the tracks once they start playing. The name says it all right? Is this another social statement put to sound from UR?We'll leave that to your imagination.Floyd on the coded voice channel. You will find the strength in the sound and make your transition.Underground Resistance always stood and still stands for more than just music.Consequently both Jeff and myself were AWARE.These same themes were and still are being broadcasted over the radio and television further spreading the stereotype. The Underground Resistance website recently changed servers.Today, the risks are more mental than physical, but there are still agents urging would be fugitives to pick up a book and read.To that end, we present the debut of the Interstellar Reading List.Fiction and nonfiction mingle to break the chains on your brain and awaken your inner R1 gene!!!Our sole purpose is to shed light on electronic music from and associated with Detroit. There is nothing more frustrating to an artist then being asked questions by people that don't know their work or know the right questions to ask to truly get down to the artists personality and real thoughts about their own art. This is something that we?It is time to bring these artists the respect they have always deserved. Now the time has come for us to wage Electronic Warfare upon the media world and place our own stamp upon the history of this music and bring light upon the masses.Invisible Show Case Vol.For underground resistance movements, see Underground resistance.Underground Resistance (commonly abbreviated to UR) are a musical collective from Detroit, Michigan, in the United States of America.Later Robert "Noise" Hood joined the collective. Many of Underground Resistance's labelmate's early releases were the product of various experiments by Banks, Mills, and Hood, both solo and in collaboration, before Mills and Hood left the collective in 1992 to achieve international success as solo artists and DJs.UR tracks have occasionally been released on other labels (usually in what UR metaphorically describe as "reconnaissance" or "infiltration").In 1999, newcomer DJ Rolando released UR's most commercially successful EP, "The Knights of The Jaguar".From 2002 Kraftwerk's live shows featured the group performing UR's remixes compiled in the song now called "Planet of Visions".DayStar Rising

more...The neutrality of this article is disputed. The term resistance has political overtones, as people have used it, along with similar terms, to bring support to opposition groups.Organizations and individuals critical of foreign intervention and supporting forms of organized movement (particularly where citizens are affected) tend to favor the term. When such a resistance movement uses violence, those favorably disposed to it may also speak of freedom fighters.Terrorists, as a modern appellation, are not seen as fighting for freedom, whereas Resistance Movements are. Thus, Resistance Movements may employ terror tactics, but not all who use terror tactics are called a Resistance movement.Notable individuals in resistance movements
4.Background
Resistance movements can include any irregular armed force that rises up against an enforced or established authority, government, or administration.Tactics of resistance movements against a constituted authority range from nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience, to industrial sabotage and guerrilla warfare, or even conventional warfare if the resistance movement is strong enough.Any government facing violent acts from a resistance movement usually condemns such acts as terrorism, even when such attacks target only the military or security forces.Although mainland Britain did not suffer invasion in World War II, the British made preparations for a British resistance movement in the event of a German invasion. In strict military terminology, a resistance movement is simply that; it seeks to resist (change) the policies of a government or occupying power.Poles, the Germans and the Soviets.Mexico in the early 20th century, as did the Zapata brothers.Resistance groups and movements depicted in fiction, often based on real resistance groups and movements.See Copyrights for details.Complete the second half of your crucial mission here on May 16th.The resistance is relying on you, your performance here could have massive impact upon our fight against oppression.Save the prisoner, and gain the vital intelligence!Up area and downloading Episode 1 Chapter 1.New intelligence has come to our attention which could prove to be vital to our resistance efforts.Details are sketchy at this moment.Return on the day of the mission for a full briefing.Welcome to the Underground Resistance base. So, what kinds of people joined this resistance
movement, and how did they resist? What kinds of people joined the
resistance movement? For example, Hans and Sophie Scholl, siblings,
were active young patriots in the Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls,
respectively.Whiting 108), and one goal of
the Scholls was for Germany to be purified of Hitler. However, the Mormons
already planned to support Hitler and were hoping to demonstrate similarities between
Nazism and Mormonism (Hansen xiv).BBC news broadcasts in German from London, even though
that was one of the stations the Nazis tried to block.Helmuth was an example
of a youth who was encouraged to follow Hitler but discovered the truth and joined the
resistance. Some members of the resistance movement were actually members of the German
military.Like the Scholls, Stauffenberg was shaken by the violence of
Kristallnacht, but at this time, Stauffenberg still kept his feelings to himself. While
Stauffenberg was recovering from injuries received in a battle in North Africa, his uncle,
already a member of the resistance, visited Stauffenberg to convince him to join.Nazis and the war and to encourage them to get rid of Hitler (Gill 189).Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a doctor of theology in Germany, knew that Hitler was
dangerous from the start and immediately began to take actions to resist.Bonhoeffer,
desperate to get the message across about the danger that Hitler posed, stated that any
leader could turn into a misleader.Hitler supporter, recognized that
Hitler was the target of the comment and pulled the plug on the transmission.Later on,
Bonhoeffer demonstrated resistance again with the formation of an underground church.Bonhoeffer, along with others, hated how Hitler took control of the churches, replacing
the cross with the swastika, along with other changes.Bonhoeffer pled with the Allies not to
continue the war once the resistance members came to power.Bonhoeffer was in on the plots
to assassinate Hitler.Hitler and the Nazi party, but they were all dangerous.Stones from the River, there are references to acts of resistance
against Hitler and the Nazi party. Many members of
the resistance made the supreme sacrifice. The Nazis were
relentless. However, the people who resisted did not sacrifice their lives for nothing. The
methods of resisting may not have directly accomplished the goals of killing Hitler and
cleansing Germany of Nazism from within, but Jews were able to escape and truths were made
known.Chicago: University of Illinois Press, 1995.The Home Front:
Germany.This
mass extermination of Jews has become known as the Holocaust.Israel Cooperation Enterprise, 8.Because of the
intervention of courageous individuals in Germany and other occupied countries, many
Jewish lives were saved. In researching the
rescue of Jews, I had difficulty finding material, and most of what I found was on the
Internet. What I discovered was that most
rescue efforts were done by individuals. The only large organized rescue attempt made by a country was that of Denmark. This effort was successful because of the
willingness of the citizens to hide the Jews in their homes.Still others helped because
they received monetary rewards from the Jews they hid and helped escape.Semitism and fear of the severe punishments they would endure. The number of Jews
rescued varied in different parts of Europe.Western Europe were closer to neutral countries, so escape was easier
(Holocaust).There were some
officials who decided to risk their positions to save the lives of Jews. One such person was Captain Frank Foley, at the
time, a British MI6 officer.Foley was able to keep his actions
secret because of his position in the British Intelligence.Though he found out about an operation in the 1930s to smuggle Jews from Germany to
Palestine, he also kept quiet about this information. At this time, these
commodities were not available to most people. The Montags put their own
lives on the line for the sake of others. They
choose to help the woman out of a sense of moral duty.Trudi and her father make a tunnel to allow the Jews to escape because the father
and daughter realize the danger that these people are in.After doing this research on the smuggling of Jews out of Germany during World War
II, I discovered that there are numerous stories of individuals who risked their lives to
save the lives of others.Israel Honours Forgotten British
Spy.United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Thus, the underground railroad, which played an important
role during the Holocaust, is something that not many people know that much about.Because
it had to be kept so secret, there are many questions to be asked about it and about the
effects it had on the lives of the Jewish people and those who tried to save them: Who
were the organizations that helped? Was most
of the work done by individuals or were larger groups more helpful? What was the operation
like? What happened to those whose were discovered trying to help the Jews?During the Holocaust, there were many major organizations that helped to smuggle
the Jewish people out of danger. These
organizations were found not only in Germany but also in several other European countries. The Dominican Republic, according to Lauren Levy, became a place for Jews to flee to in
1938 when they were not welcomed elsewhere. While 5,000 visas were issued between 1940 and
1945, under the leadership of Rafael Trijillo, Levy reports that only 645 Jews actually
made the journey. Those that emigrated settled in the seacoast town of Sosua, which had
been set aside for them by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and given
generous provisions(Levy).Another
organization in the rescue effort was the OSE network in France, which, according to Dalia
and Weitzman, was run by Georges Garel and was aimed at hiding Jewish children using a
network of social workers(246).Lyons to hide the Jewish children(Ofer and
Weitzman 246).The OSE, the MJS, and other
French agencies helped to rescue between 7,500 and 9,000 Jewish children in France (Ofer
and Weitzman 246).There are numerous accounts of ordinary people
taking extraordinary measures to save the lives of complete strangers. For example, the Jewish Online Research Center,
includes many personal stories about the Holocaust, like the story of Stanislaw Jasinski
and Emilia Slodkowska nee Jasinska. When in
September of 1942, German and Ukranian police murdered the Jews in the Polish town of
Siedliszcze Male, two brothers managed to escape to the nearby town of Antonowak, where
there were still Jews living.Devoting his life to protecting the Jewish
refugees, according to the Jewish Student Online Research Center website, Father Benoit
created false papers and smuggled Jewish refugees into Spain and Switzerland by utilizing
his connections with border guards, the French underground, and other religious
organizations.After
starting a new operation out of the Capuchin College in Rome, he obtained documents that
allowed Jewish people to escape under false names. Those who were caught were punished severely and more than likely paid for their
crimes with their lives.Ursula Hegi also demonstrates this in her
novel Stones from the River when Trudi and her father dig a tunnel to help Jewish
refugees escape.Not only
would they have a safe passage for the woman and the child, but for others who would come
here after that. Those who actively took part in the underground railroad had
to be extremely cautious at all times and make sure that they did not let anything slip. The underground
railroad helped to save many lives during the Holocaust. It demonstrates the courage of the individuals and the impact these individuals
had.New
