Originally, Unearth was the name of a Seattle, Washington Grunge band.They released one album in 1993, and broke up shortly thereafter.Unearth was formed by Trevor Phipps, Buz McGrath, Ken Susi, Mike Rudberg, and Chris Rybicki in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1998.The name "Unearth" was reused from Drummer Mike Rudberg's old band.On the small independent label, Endless Fight Records, they released their first EP called Above the Fall of Man in May, 1999.Years after the release, Unearth signed to Eulogy Recordings to release The Stings of Conscience in 2001 and Endless in 2002.During the process of Endless, Chris Rybicki left the group and was replaced by John Maggard.After playing in venues like the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and Ozzfest with Unearth, Mike Rudberg left the group a day after their performance at The SXSW in 2003 for the reason of playing naked during that night.The rest of Unearth would then use Paulie Antignai of Sworn Enemy as temporary replacement drummer and Kia Eshghi of A Static Lullaby as temporary replacement guitarist (before Buz returned).With the return of Buz McGrath and new permanent replacement drummer, Mike Justian of The Red Chord, Unearth released the The Oncoming Storm under Metal Blade Records on June 29, 2004.Shortly after, they would begin touring with Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, and Lamb of God for MTV's Headbangers Ball US tour.They would also tour with Slipknot the next year.In 2005, Unearth performed in the first ever Sounds Of The Underground tour with numerous bands like Norma Jean, GWAR, and All That Remains.Present

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!Unearth as we toured North America with metal legends Slayer, headlined tours in Europe, Australia and New Zealand for the first time, played the biggest European festivals of our career, brought our metal to the awesome state of Alaska for its' live debut and finished off the year with a packed out headlining North American tour.Mexico and South America in January and February, respectively, the release of our double disc DVD with a live concert disc and a full documentary DVD spanning our entire career (coming this March), more worldwide touring and a brand new full length Unearth studio album coming sometime this fall!After many emails from you all urging us to do so, we have put "Sanctity of Brothers" back up and streaming on our MYSPACE page as well as adding "One Step Away" off our first full length disc "The Stings of Conscience".These tunes are streaming online and all of our albums are available in stores everywhere as well as on iTunes.In the Eyes of Fire" is now available on Music Choice On Demand.Unearth

We will be filming our show at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA on October 9th for an upcoming DVD!We figured it was about time we shot a real DVD and what better place than the intimate Glasshouse?Ever since we first played there in 2002 we have loved the crowds and venue in every repeat visit.We couldn't be more stoked to return and get it on tape this time around.The DVD set will be a complete retrospective from our beginnings in the basement practice space in Winthrop, Massachusetts all the way up to present day as well as a look at what is in store for us as we approach a full decade of being Unearth.ARCH ENEMY JOIN FORCES!!Be sure to check out the TOUR DATES section for the changes to the show in Calgary on October 17th.The venue has been moved from the Warehouse to MacEwan Hall Ballroom in the Student Center at the Univeristy of Calgary.Advance tickets purchased for the original show at the Warehouse will be honored at the new venue.About the Band
