WIZO.David Miliband to be Guest Speaker at WIZO.The first President of World WIZO, was born in Leeds in 1890.She was the sole President of the London WIZO Executive from its inception, with the exception of a term when there was a Presidium consisting of Mrs.In 1949, when the Head Office of WIZO was transferred to Israel, Mrs.At a Plenary Session of the World WIZO Executive in 1966, Mrs.In 1951, she was elected Chairman of the World WIZO Executive, and at the World WIZO Conference in 1966, became President of World WIZO, a position which she held until 1970.Raya Jaglom immigrated to Israel from Bessarabia in Romania in 1940, by means of a student certificate that she had received from the Hebrew University.Following the War of Independence, she returned to her activities in WIZO where she served in several key positions.Her primary endeavours were to establish programs for the community, in particular for its weaker members.Indeed, at her initiative, institutions were established throughout the country for young children, adolescents, women and the elderly.Similarly, her tireless efforts led to the establishment of branches of WIZO all over the world.She served as chair of the Committee for Ida Nudel for eight years.WIZO is also an acronym for the Women's International Zionist Organization.The band was formed in 1985.In 1986 they altered their name to "WIZO" and got their first gig in 1987.In 1988 WIZO released their first demo tape, in 1990, they released another demo."Klebstoff" ("Glue") EP, their first vinyl record.Arsch" (familiar for "To No Avail") was released.Roy Black on the one year anniversary of his death."Tops and Curnips") EP on Fatwreck, being the songs that were already popular in Germany, but unknown to the rest of the world.That year, Herr Guhl replaced Ingo as drummer.September, 2004, WIZO made a first in the music industry by releasing a single on USB keydrive, titled as the "WIZO Stick EP."In addition to five high bitrate MP3s, it also included a video, pictures, lyrics, and tabs.In November of 2004, coinciding with the release of their final album, "Anderster," they announced their intent to dissolve in March of 2005, upon the conclusion of their farewell tour.WIZO plays pretty funny and happy Punk Rock music with ironic but anyway political lyrics which is called Fun Punk.Arsch (1991)
